of Puerto Lumbreras and Lorca.
Dear and Dear winners.
Ms. and Mrs.
It is a great pleasure for the mayor of Lorca to share these moments with all of you in this very emotional and timely act.
Emotional, because the Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Services of Lorca has been good to recognize the commendable work of the winners.
Timely, because the consideration this afternoon is being given to the winners is very relevant because each and every one of them are worthy of such distinction.
Therefore, I want to begin my intervention by congratulating those who have received recognition from the Chamber of Commerce.
But I also want to thank all of them for their professional career because they are, in themselves, true examples of a job well done, of daily effort and entrepreneurship as a way of life to create wealth and jobs.
For all this, my most sincere congratulations on behalf of the entire Municipal Corporation.
On the 22nd, on the occasion of the Institutional Act of Honors and Distinctions of the City of Lorca, which was developed in this same scenic setting, I advocated projecting among all and with the participation and involvement of all social sectors, a Lorca with more cohesion social, with higher levels of economic well-being, in which an attractive personal project can be promoted and developed.
A thriving Lorca built among all.
A Lorca, in short, of opportunities, welcoming, integrating and owning its destiny.
We live in a moment of deep social and economic transformations that transcend our municipality, our region, our Region and the nation as a whole.
The City of Lorca has opened a new period in which we will project and set ambitious goals, concrete realities and structural plans that will result in the benefit of society.
The balanced and sustained exploitation of our environmental, economic and cultural resources will be the fundamental axis of our municipal action to eliminate the imbalances that our municipality suffers.
We have to make our Historic Center a fundamental tool for the socioeconomic development of Lorca.
The innumerable possibilities and potentials that we have must definitely put them on the table.
The enhancement of the historical-artistic heritage represents a great opportunity for development in a double way: in the cultural enrichment that it brings us, on the one hand, and in the socio-economic side as a generator of new resources within a service economy model for the city, on the other hand.
And we are fully aware that we have to revitalize our urban fabric.
With the involvement of the social and neighborhood agents, we have to launch actions aimed at recovering the commercial momentum that Lorca deserves to have.
Lorca must be a focus of commercial attraction and active, dynamic and entrepreneurial leisure.
With the active and committed participation of all and establishing the appropriate synergies, Lorca has to be that attractive county seat and recipient of investors and entrepreneurs.
Historically, from the Chamber of Commerce, and other entities and associations, the transformation of the economic model of Lorca towards a city of services has been proposed.
This does not imply giving up at all the role played by the primary sector in our local, regional and regional economy.
But we must be aware that the secondary sector is going through difficult times due to the international situation.
Therefore, without giving up any sector of economic activity, we must affirm that in the coming years we are presented with a magnificent opportunity to strengthen our city as a City of Services.
A great actor for achieving this goal will be the Fair Institution.
The Palace of Fairs and Congresses of Santa Quiteria must be finished and functioning at full capacity in the shortest possible time.
I am convinced that with the launch of Ifelor Lorca, it will be a national reference for the celebration of all kinds of events and its consequent impact on the local economy will positively affect trade, hospitality, leisure and all services.
We all want and want a modern city.
And to achieve this it is necessary that we equip ourselves with the infrastructure that Lorca needs.
The projection, implementation and completion of the infrastructure that Lorca requires and needs also constitute a basic pillar for the sustainable development of our municipality.
And for this it is essential that the infrastructures already started, such as the ring road, be completed, and that others, such as the San Antonio underground passage, the conversion of the fast track to Águilas and the highway be completed as quickly as possible. towards Caravaca, to name a few.
And as for the railroad, our bet encompasses both nearby and long distance.
The Mediterranean Corridor is another opportunity that we are in the making and that we will not miss.
The High Speed Train and its underground passage through our city is another issue that should not raise controversy.
It has to go underground in our city and we will claim where it is necessary because that is the case.
And in this same sense, we will continue supporting the agri-food sector.
Our productive model is to continue promoting and promoting cooperativism as the best social economy mechanism to address the challenges that our potential international markets are imposing on us.
As mayor of Lorca I will always be together with our irrigators and producers so that our fields continue to have the necessary water resources.
In addition, from the City Council we offer all our support so that the effects of Brexit and the new protectionist policies of some countries do not harm the interests of our companies.
All this, dear friends and dear friends, sponsored and chaired by dialogue, participation, agreement, agreement and transaction.
Dialogue between the different public administrations and with the social and economic agents of the municipality.
Participation accommodating the social and neighborhood fabric.
Agreement between all the actors involved
Agreement to agree on the priority objectives of Lorca.
And transaction to welcome and materialize the contributions that we all put on the table.
I finish my speech as I started: congratulating the winners and the Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Services of Lorca for the success in each of them.
Thank you very much.
