All this has led to obtaining this certification that is part of the most demanding livestock and meat sector in the world, such as Spanish.
The Spanish pig sector has always been at the forefront of animal welfare seeking to implant and strengthen the highest demands in animal care and care and respect for the environment.
So much so that, after the latest regulations of the European Union, in animal protection of pigs (the most demanding in the world) Spain was a pioneer in its establishment and compliance.
The Welfair Certification is based on the European Welfare Quality project and the European AWIN® project, in which systems have been developed to evaluate and control the quality of animal welfare in farms and slaughterhouses.
This pioneering model in Europe requires compliance with 4 basic principles of animal welfare that are good food, good accommodation, good health and appropriate behavior and to ensure a comprehensive control of these basic principles a list of requirements has been developed, specified in specific points , which related companies must comply with.
