Lorca visits the hamlet of Almendricos]
Continuing with his pastoral visit to the area of Lorca, the Bishop of Cartagena, Mons. Jos Manuel Lorca Planes, traveled yesterday to the Lorca village of Almendricos.
“The whole town was very happy to receive our bishop,” says Juan Mara Moreno, pastor of San Antonio de Padua.
The day began with the visit of the prelate to the Almendricos patients who, according to his pastor, "were excited about his presence."
Later, the bishop met with the women's association, with the Brotherhood of the Virgin of Los Dolores and with the Brotherhood of the Christ of the Good Death.
In the afternoon, at 5:00 p.m., Mons. Lorca had an encounter with the children and youth of catechesis whom he encouraged to be "peace builders."
Later, the prelate presided over the Eucharist in which he stressed that “the work of evangelization is not only of the priests, but also of all the laity who carry the announcement of the Kingdom where the parish priests cannot reach” and reminded all present that Christians "are called to always carry the love and forgiveness of God."
To end his visit, the bishop blessed the parish bethlehem that, according to his pastor, "has taken a lot of work and has been preparing for weeks so he could be ready for the occasion."
