Otherwise, "they will force us to lock ourselves back in the City Hall but we will not leave there until this nightmare ends"
After the assembly held at night, the citizen platform affected by the process of massive reimbursement of aid for the rehabilitation of homes damaged by the earthquakes in Lorca in 2011, has decided to resume the mobilizations if on December 26 it does not get a response to its demands.
Its spokesperson, the councilwoman of IU-Verdes Gloria Martín, has explained that the demands of this group are fundamental to "not take steps back."
In this regard, he explained that in recent months he has detected "reluctance" and "obstacles" on the part of the City Council in facilitating the processing of documents that will allow them to justify the aid granted.
Specifically, those affected request that the collaboration agreement between the City Council and the Ministry of Development of the Region of Murcia regarding the processing of supporting reports be renewed "immediately" so that they can benefit "with all guarantees" to the laws approved in the regional Assembly that simplify the procedure for justification of aid.
This agreement empowers the City Council, through the Office of Comprehensive Advice for the Reconstruction of homes affected by earthquakes, to verify that the supporting accounts conform to the established model and are duly completed.
After this process, the City Council sends the documentation to the Ministry of Development and Infrastructure along with an accrediting certification and, days later, those affected receive a communication signed by the Director General of Housing and the Mayor of Lorca in which they are confirmed the processing status of your procedure.
However, since last August, those affected by the documentation are not receiving this last letter because the agreement is not in force, which is generating "inequalities" with respect to the neighbors who do.
The second of the requests is that the City Council reinforce punctually the template of notifiers so that the 470 neighbors who have not yet submitted the justification report can be located, whose term ends on January 25 next.
"We understand that we should have been more diligent in this task because there has been time since July," said Martin, who added that "despite this, you can still achieve and avoid a new extension that the platform rejects that would prolong the uncertainty of those who submitted all the documentation more than a year ago. "
In that sense, the mayor said that "we do not want anyone to stay on the road but for that the City Council must make all efforts to notify."
Finally, those affected require the City Council to be "forceful" in the requirement of the file of the 400 files that the Administration itself recognizes that they have prescribed.
"We do not accept that Promotion forces these neighbors to continue with paperwork and paperwork when, by Law, these files must be automatically closed."
These three requests were transferred to the Town Planning Councilor, José Luis Ruiz Guillén, who represented the Mayor, Diego José Mateos, in the assembly, since he who had excused his assistance for his participation during the morning in a meeting at the Ministry of Finance .
Those affected expect solutions before December 26, when there will be only one month left to process the reports.
"If by then everything remains the same they will force us to lock ourselves back in the City Hall but we will not leave there until this nightmare ends," Martin concluded.
