The councilwoman of IU-Verdes has personally transferred their "total disposition" to collaborate in this task "in all that is necessary" and has coincided with the workers in the need "to row in the same direction", which is none other than "Help thousands of families who used subsidies to repair their homes and that, eight years after the earthquakes, have to face a bureaucratic process that is being exhausting for all"
At the request of the workers of the Office of Integral Advice for the Reconstruction of homes affected by the earthquakes, the councilor of the United Left-Greens of Lorca, Gloria Martín, has held a meeting with them in which they have addressed the needs of this service to face the final phase of the presentation of the reports that will allow the neighbors to justify the aid for the repair of their damaged homes due to the earthquakes of 2011.
Martín has personally transferred his "total disposition" to collaborate in this task "in all that is necessary" and has coincided with the workers in the need "to row in the same direction", which is none other than "helping thousands of families that used subsidies to repair their homes and that, eight years after the earthquakes, have to face a bureaucratic process that is being exhausting for everyone. "
"I understand that my role as councilor of the opposition is to address the political leader and not directly to the municipal workers but, given the circumstances and the exceptional nature of this process, the most useful thing for Lorca is that we work in coordination and there is a communication direct with them, "he said about it.
The team of the earthquake office has assured that as of December 23, the neighbors who presented the justification report after December will be able to collect the letter that accredits that they have accepted the procedure and that they have met all the requirements, and that they already have in their possession who processed the documentation before the summer.
The mayor of IU-Verdes has also been informed that, as claimed by the affected platform, the notifier team is making an extraordinary effort to locate neighbors who do not yet know that they can take advantage of this route.
For all these workers Martin has asked the government team "reinforcements necessary" and receive "precise instructions" to facilitate their task.
"Those affected who have been entangled in this process for two years need to close this chapter without further agonizing extensions and I am sure that we can achieve this if everyone, including politicians with management responsibilities, does our job in the remaining weeks," he said.
The IU councilor has also appealed to the 300 people who have been contacted and have not yet submitted documentation so they "do not throw in the towel" and contact the earthquake office or the platform affected (in the office of the municipal group of the IU) where "we will help them".
Martín has described the meeting as "very positive" and has encouraged the workers in the earthquake office to face this last stretch hard.
"It is being hard, especially emotionally, something we all know that we are in contact with those affected day by day. One last push remains but it is worth it because the reward will be to have helped our neighbors to end this nightmare," he concluded.
Aid for demolition
On a possible procedure for the reimbursement of aid for demolition that is directly managed by the City Council, Martín has requested that the necessary mechanisms be articulated so that all the neighbors who fulfilled the object of the subsidy, that is, with the demolition and subsequent de-collection , can justify it.
On this subject, they have informed him that the legal services are already studying a possible modification of the bases of the call to facilitate this task to those affected by this cause.
