Lorca Plans visits Lorca's La Hoya and Hinojar districts]
The bishop of Cartagena.
Mons. Jos Manuel Lorca Planes, visited last Friday the Lorquina districts of La Hoya and Hinojar, continuing with his pastoral visit to the area of Lorca.
The day began at 11:00 in the parish of the Sacred Heart of Jesus de La Hoya with the reception of the pastor, Kenneth Iloabuchi, and a group of faithful.
Later, the bishop visited the Juan Navarro municipal school, where the schoolchildren received him with pennants decorated with his episcopal shield.
“The children were delighted, the bishop was very close and answered everyone's questions, including Muslim children who also participated in this meeting and who asked him questions related to faith,” says Iloabuchi.
Mons. Lorca also met with the pediatric mayor and visited the senior center of La Hoya.
In the afternoon, the bishop visited the sick people of the town.
“It was a very emotional moment because most of these people have given their lives for the Church and, although due to personal circumstances, they can no longer go to the parish, they were very happy to receive our pastor, who reminded them that God continues with them and that the Church has them present and will always accompany them in their faith, ”explains the pastor.
Mons. Lorca also met with the pastoral council, butlers and catechists of the parish and thanked them for their work, pointing out the importance of the laity in the Church and reminding them that, as Christians, they have to "transmit to all world the joy of knowing Jesus Christ ”.
The visit continued in Hinojar where parishioners received the prelate in the chapel of Our Lady of the Assumption.
There, Mons. Lorca was chatting with them to learn how they live their faith and, at 20:00 hours, he returned to the parish of La Hoya where the seasonal mass took place.
In his homily, the bishop said that "in the birth of Jesus there were also sick and dying" and stressed that, therefore, "as Christians we must celebrate Christmas by welcoming everyone in the cradle of our hearts."
Finally, he encouraged the faithful to always treat with respect all those who do not share the Christian faith, "taking for example the love and understanding of God."
