The work "Passion of Strength and Elegance", by the graphic designer Carmen Muñoz Manchón, will be the promotional poster for Holy Week in Lorca 2020 (18/12/2019)

The Councilor for Tourism of the City of Lorca, Francisco Morales, the Councilor for Holy Week, José Luis Ruiz Guillén, and the Councilor for Culture, M.ª Ángeles Mazuecos, along with the representative of the Social Work "La Caixa", José Antonio Murcia Sanchez, have presented this morning the winning work of the contest called for the election of the promotional poster of Holy Week in Lorca 2020.

The work that has deserved to become the winner of the jury's unanimous contest is "Passion of Strength and Elegance", from the Bachelor of Fine Arts and Lorcan graphic designer Carmen Muñoz Manchón.

It is a digital design that does not lose the essence of the pictorial technique with spots full of color and liveliness, as well as lines that generate dynamism, spontaneity and energy.

In the eighth edition of the contest called for the election of the poster of Holy Week 12 posters made by different artists from inside and outside Lorca have participated, a figure higher than other editions because this year has facilitated the presentation of proposals in format digital without sending the printed poster.

The jury, meeting on November 29, was composed of José Antonio Murcia, representative of the Social Work "La Caixa", who collaborates with the contest taking care of the payment of the prize money: € 1000;

the Councilor for Tourism, Francisco Morales;

the Councilor for Culture, María Ángeles Mazuecos;

and the Councilor for Holy Week, José Luís Ruiz Guillén, as well as two technicians from the Department of Tourism.

The jury unanimously decided to reward the work of Carmen Muñoz Manchón, "a poster that highlights, on the one hand, the spectacular symbiosis that results from the combination of forces of an Amazon and an animal as noble as the horse that conveys an elegance and passion dressed in silk, gold and pride embroidery On the other hand, the strength and spectacularness of a quadriga that, galloping, runs a deafening career and raging white and blue scarves mainly next to the lives of passionate Lorca and visitors that enter a unique tradition in the world ", detailed Francisco Morales.

The mayor of Tourism has announced that “this poster will become the promotional image of Holy Week outside Lorca, reflecting the uniqueness of our Passional Biblical Parades.

This promotion will be carried out in the different fairs and tourist initiatives in which the Department of Tourism participates during the next months, starting with the next edition of FITUR that will be held in Madrid during the month of January â€.

It will also serve to illustrate the covers of the brochures that are edited from the Department of Tourism on the occasion of the celebration of Holy Week.

As usual, about 3,000 posters in Spanish and 500 in English will be printed to distribute in FITUR, regional and border provinces tourist offices, as well as throughout the year in how many promotional events the Department participates to publicize this great coral celebration like no other is Holy Week in Lorca, â€Morales said.
