The Spokesman of the Popular Municipal Group in the City of Lorca and President of the local PP, Fulgencio Gil, along with the National Deputies, Juan Luis Pedreño and Isabel Borrego, the Senators, Francisco Bernabé, Violante Tomás and Juan María Vázquez and the Regional Deputy, María del Carmen Ruiz, announced this morning the start of a parliamentary offensive in which they will demand that the Ministry of Justice assume as "irrevocable" the construction of the City Courthouse on the plot reserved for that purpose in the historic center of the municipality , as well as streamlining all procedures to restart jobs.
It is nonsense that the PSOE will delay the works more than 3 years, between what they have already stopped and the deadlines that have been met as of now.
From the PP they have indicated that what is happening with the construction works of the Palace of Justice is an example of discrimination, marginalization and contempt against our city.
We are talking about a project that we took forward from the Popular Party and prepared, but that the PSOE has been responsible for torpedoing since its arrival in the central government.
The Palace of Justice is another victim of the "burned land" policy that the Socialists are using against our municipality in all its aspects.
In Lorca we do not even want to hear about other approaches that are not respecting what was agreed, that is, that the judicial headquarters are in the historic center.
We already know that the PSOE is trying to convince us to change location, but we will not allow it.
We are going to oppose frontally.
The fight that we have developed together with Lorca's society is not going to fall now in a broken sack.
The paralysis of the project has a negative impact on different aspects.
The main one is the provision of services related to Justice.
We must point out that since the Popular Party we have demanded, together with the different professional associations of the sector, that the new judicial headquarters be kept in the historic center.
A claim that after many efforts and intense work by those responsible for the PP, was achieved.
In fact, we also achieved through an initiative of Fulgencio Gil in the Senate that the term of execution of these works was reduced by half, which was initially going to be 4 years, but which managed to cut it in half.
We are not going to allow the PSOE to obstruct this project after everything that has cost us to move it forward.
The Palace of Justice has to be built on the plot reserved in the historic center, because that is the commitment with the groups of professionals in the field of justice, and the Ministry has to stop "dizzy partridge"
A year ago, and after pressing before the Ministry for the stoppage of the works, they told us from the Ministry that a modification of the project that led to the official suspension of the works was being processed.
The reality is that because of the negligence of the central government and its inability to unlock this issue, we have been missing another year and a half, and a blocked investment of 10 million.
The popular have indicated that what we are finding since the arrival of the PSOE to power in Madrid is a systematic block to everything that has to do with the construction of our Courthouse.
This is also assuming a strong slowdown to development and activity in the historic center.
It is evident that an infrastructure of this magnitude entails the revitalization of the area in which it is located, in the heart of the historic center.
Because of the inaction and lack of sensitivity of the PSOE government, Lorca is missing a key opportunity for the field of Justice and to give life to its historic center.
The reality is that the works have been completely stopped for a year, they have not laid a brick and a great concern is being generated among the different groups of justice professionals, who do not understand how, after everything we have achieved and having the necessary financing and the awarded work, we have to endure new delays.
From the PP it is insisted that it is a project in which we are late, and whose execution is pending the entire collective of justice professionals in the region.
We do not want to imagine that this investment is not respected and is a currency to pay the concessions of the Central Government with its radical and independentist partners, and to clear up doubts the Lorca people want the work to resume and end this uncertainty.
This project includes an ambitious task of recovering the monumental heritage, an advantage to which the integral improvement of Selgas Street must be added.
Lorca has seven courts of first instance and instruction and two criminal courts.
The impossibility of the current Courthouse to host new judicial bodies has meant that the courts that have been created over the last few years are currently distributed in four different locations in the city.
This dispersion causes numerous damages and discomforts to officials, professionals and citizens.
