The Spokesman of the Municipal Group of IU-V in the City of Lorca, Pedro Sosa, appeared this morning before the media to assess the meeting held late yesterday with the PSOE of Lorca.
A meeting that is part of the investiture pact signed by both parties after the municipal elections last year, and in which they undertook, regardless of the material and programmatic content of the agreement, to convene a follow-up commission every six months.
In addition to reviewing the investiture pact, the meeting also served to bring up the differences of both formations on the municipal budget project for 2020.
At the meeting the faces of the Mayor of Lorca were seen, accompanied by his councilors José Luis Ruiz Guillén and Isabel Casalduero, and the IU Spokesman, Pedro Sosa, who was accompanied by the councilor of the Gloría Martín formation and by the Coordinator local of the same, Pepe García Murcia.
Sosa argues that on the part of IU-V a review of the investiture agreement was made, highlighting what they consider a sum of breaches of that agreement in all thematic blocks of the same.
Of the almost fifty more or less specific issues of which the agreement consists, Sosa affirms that only four of them can be considered fulfilled.
The balance is very poor and it must be added, IU-V maintains, that the draft budgets that are presented to us barely include any timid consignment of the content of the PSOE-IU agreement.
With regard to defaults, Sosa has been explaining them by themes: equality, social welfare, employment, historic center, earthquake, infrastructure, urban planning, environment, land planning, budgets, municipal taxation, public services, democracy, transparency and participation, culture, to end up stating that Lorca needs to endow with a solid and determined “political leadershipâ€, but, contrary to that, what we have after more than half a year of local PSOE government is continuity in relation to the policies of the PP .. Among the biggest criticisms IU has insisted on the absence of measures to curb the deterioration of the historic center, the continuity with the fiscal policies of the PP and the inability to search for new niches of economic resources, the absence of a strategic plan for Lorca , the wrong environmental policy of deterioration of the Regional Park of Cabo Cope-Calnegre, after almost three decades of lacking a
n Plan for the management of its resources, the absence of policies that combat the growing inequality that exists in Lorca and that today is news in the media and continuity in so many issues such as the lack of democracy in the election of pedáneos, citizen participation and empowerment of the districts, the closure of earthquake wounds, the absence of new employment policies, the desert of ideas about infrastructure and the railroad as it passes through Lorca, or the neglect of neighborhoods and districts
Finally, Sosa has advanced that after having facilitated the investiture of the PSOE, after also facilitating the approval of the budgets of some of the public companies of Lorca, after approving the 2020 Fiscal Ordinances trusting that they would include and implement some of the proposals of IU ... after all these expressions of confidence on our part we see how Mayor Diego José Mateos and his team prefer to put in front of IU two other travel companions -C, s and VOX- with whom we know that they have held meetings to collect their supports to the public accounts of the year that now begins.
If that is the path that the PSOE of Lorca has undertaken, Sosa has concluded, we will not be found in it, and, thus, we see it very difficult that IU-V, with his vote, will contribute to get ahead of the municipal budget project for 2020.
