The councilor of this training, Gloria Martín, will ask in the Plenary for the approval of an ordinance regulating agricultural plastics and the abolition of the bonus in the ICIO for greenhouses, after knowing that workers of the Directorate of the Environment have been re-creased by farmers around the Cabo-Cope Calnegre Regional Park, who threaten to destroy conservation and signaling work in protected areas again
The councilor of Izquierda-Unida Verdes in Lorca, Gloria Martín, has denounced new threats by some farmers in the area of the Regional Park Cabo Cope-Calnegre before the work being carried out by the General Directorate of the Natural Environment of the Ministry of Environment Environment in this area.
"In the last days they have dedicated themselves to threatening in a threatening tone the workers in charge of the conservation works, to such an extent that it seems that the Civil Guard has had to intervene," explained Martín.
"They are threatening to pass the tractors again, once again, to break through protected areas or destroy the signaling elements," said the councilwoman, who demanded from the municipal government "blunt actions" to end this "bullying."
Martín announced that every time his party is aware of this type of action, he will respond with a measure "within the law" to "reverse the social order" and ensure that the constitutional right of people to enjoy an adequate environment is fulfilled , as well as the duty of public authorities, including municipalities, to keep it.
"We are going to propose new legal instruments against unreasonableness and brutality," he warned.
Therefore, the councilor of IU-Greens has postponed the motion that he planned to present to the ordinary Plenary of the month of January to replace it with another that asks the City of Lorca to approve an ordinance for the management of agricultural plastics.
In this regard, he explained that intensive agriculture is the "maximum responsible" for having turned our coastline into the point most contaminated by marine litter in the Region of Murcia.
"Far from maintaining a responsible attitude and taking measures to alleviate this situation, these gentlemen, who believe they are masters of what is not theirs, persist in their chulesca and forgiving attitude," said Martin.
The mayor of IU-Verdes also said that the municipalities of Lorca and Águilas must abandon their attitude of passivity, when not of collusion, and support whatever measures are necessary to protect protected natural areas.
Quite the contrary, Martín recalled that from the administrations they continue to be rewarded to those who "aggress and threaten", as for example, by applying an 85% bonus on the Constructions, Installations and Works Tax (ICIO) to the greenhouses.
"It is surprising that these types of facilities have more advantages than a public protection house, for which the bonus is only 50%, when the greenhouses" do not fulfill any function of municipal interest. "
Therefore, IU-Verdes will also propose in the Plenary a modification of the fiscal ordinances to eliminate the bonus in this type of facilities.
"It has never made sense, but much less if it is to reward those who shear our natural heritage and exploit workers, while from the City Council we complain about the lack of resources for financing," he said.
"I am convinced that there are many farmers who do things well, and we will not oppose bonuses for those who properly manage the plastics of their farms, contribute to environmental sustainability and the creation of decent employment," he said.
"For those farmers, all the support, but as long as the law of the far west continues to prevail we will be inflexible," he concluded.
Martín will request the support of this measure from environmental associations whose volunteers strive to do social awareness work through cleaning actions on the beaches of the Regional Park.
