One of the main novelties for the coming months is the new schedule of the projections that, from now on, are 30 minutes ahead, at 6 pm and at 9:30 pm, "thus facilitating the attendance of the spectators".
The Councilor for Culture of the City of Lorca, María Ángeles Mazuecos, has presented, this morning, together with the director of the Cineclub Paradiso, Jesús Martínez, the film program for the first months of 2020, which correspond to the winter season and that it will take place from January to the beginning of April at the Guerra Theater, with free access for all films. "
Mazuecos has highlighted "one of the substantial changes of this programming is the new schedule that, from now on, will govern the two passes established for each screening, starting at 6 p.m. the first pass and at 9:30 p.m. the second, advancing 30 minutes the start of each pass. "
For its part, from the Cineclub Paradiso, its director Jesús Martínez, has been confident that in this way "it will be easier and more affordable for Cineclub viewers to attend any of the sessions they usually choose, avoiding short evenings and cold winter nights and leaving time after each screening to continue the evening or to return home at an hour less untimely than midnight. "
As for the programming, the film that will open the cycle, Lorca, stands out next Wednesday, January 29, "Like a fish out of the water", an Italian social comedy, the program will continue, already in February, with "The nursery teacher ", on Wednesday, February 5 and" The story of the weasels ", on Thursday, February 13.
On Thursday, February 20, it will be the turn of "Buñuel in the Labyrinth of the Turtles", a film that will come to the program with three Goya nominations.
On Wednesday, February 26, and in the struggle of the Goya, "What burns" will arrive, with five nominations, including Best Picture.
The programming for March, as usual, does not cease to join the events promoted by the Department of Equality for the INTERNATIONAL WOMEN'S DAY and, on this occasion, will do them with the screening of the film "The bird of happiness ", on Thursday, March 5, in what wants to be a tribute to its architect, the director Pilar Miró and one of his films more emotionally committed to the feminine desire for freedom;
played by Mercedes Sampietro as alter ego of Pilar Miró herself, Aitana Sánchez Gijón and José Sacristán.
A program that will not fail to have a title that reminds us of the films that have made films great and that we usually present under the heading THE CLASSICS OF PARADISE, for this occasion "The Misses of Rochefort" has been selected (Jacques Demy, 1967 ) one of the most unique films of what was called the French Nouvelle Vague, for its character of playful musical and colorist far from the practice in the musical genre of French cinema and in the style and form of the new cinematographic movement that was changing to Always the way to make movies in France.
It will be on Monday, March 9 taking advantage of a new restored copy and with a completely original French version at the 9:30 pm pass.
(The 6:00 pm pass will be with the dialogues dubbed into Spanish).
Also with an Oscar nomination and another Goya nomination, "Los miserables" will arrive on Wednesday, March 18, with two nominations, for Best International and European Film, respectively.
And on Thursday, April 2, the presentation will be closed with one of the great nominees of the season: "Parasites", a Korean film with six Oscar nominations, including Best Film and Best International Film and the Golden Palm of Cannes last festival already under the arm.
Finally, the mayor of Culture has encouraged all Lorca to enjoy this program that "once again lives up to the best and that with the change of time will make more people can enjoy the movies."
