The mayor of Lorca, Diego José Mateos, has inaugurated, this morning, the new headquarters with which, from now on, will be the one of the Lorquina Association of Parents Against Drugs, Nypacold, located on Granero Street, number 1, a very central area of ​​the municipality of Lorca, as it is located in front of the old Plaza de Abastos.
The First Edil explained that "these new facilities replace those that the oenegé had in this same area, specifically on Selgas Street, but that it was unusable after the earthquakes in May 2011".
Diego José Mateos has detailed that "Nypacold expects to develop in these new units the activities that it has carried out continuously over the past 27 years, serving families and people who have addiction problems and / or are in a situation of risk of social exclusion ".
Mateos stressed that "the NYPACOLD staff and the group of partners and volunteers that are part of this group have been very proud to have these facilities that have achieved so much effort."
Finally, the mayor thanked the work carried out by this group for so many years in favor of improving the quality of life of people who, due to different circumstances, fall into the difficult world of addictions, mainly drugs and those who help to leave
And he has reiterated the commitment of the Government team to continue carrying out initiatives that will gradually allow statistics on drug and alcohol consumption to continue to decline.
