The Local Police establish an alternative itinerary through the Ribera de San Miguel road while the wall consolidation works are being carried out.
The Councilor for Culture of the City of Lorca, María Ángeles Mazuecos, has reported on the measures that the Government of the Autonomous Community of the Region of Murcia has taken with respect to the detachment of part of a cloth from the medieval wall preserved on the road of The parish of the city.
Mazuecos has explained that "after the assessment, yesterday, of an archaeologist of the General Directorate of Culture and several technicians of that direction and of the general direction of roads today, has been the General Directorate of Roads, responsible and holder of the area where the detachment has occurred, who has decided to carry out an emergency intervention in the medieval wall, specifically in the well-known cloth five of the wall ".
The Edil said that "after being reviewed by technicians from both directions, together with technicians from the City Council of Lorca, it has also been verified that there are cracks in the north face of said cloth, so they have decided that the RM-701 road remains closed to traffic while these consolidation works are being carried out by the General Directorate of Culture and the General Directorate of Roads. "
Mazuecos Moreno has thanked "the speed with which the technicians of the City of Lorca as well as the municipal services moved to the area at first to avoid personal injury and new landslides and, also, the assessment of the technicians of both general directions of the Community and the decision to act urgently ".
For his part, the Councilor for Citizen Security of the City of Lorca, José Luis Ruiz Guillén, has reported that "the local police have established several alternative routes while the Fuensanta road, popularly known as the road to La Parroquia, a the curve height 'La Velica' remains cut ".
Ruiz Guillén has detailed that "Vehicles coming from the Barrio de San Cristóbal with a sense of Parador and Castillo de Lorca will be able to do it through the Ribera San Miguel highway passing under the river Guadalentín, the A-7 motorway bridge and continuing with the usual itinerary on the RM-701 road ".
The Edil has also thanked "the work of the personnel of the Bodies and Security Forces that always guarantee the protection and safety of Lorca and visitors."
