Pedro Mondéjar: "the educational centers have to be a space of educational neutrality as it corresponds by law to the educational centers and to the teachers and so we think it is".
Neither a bureaucrat nor a politician can decide which center a student attends or what kind of complementary training he receives from people outside the center.
We do not believe that the State can supplant the right of parents over their children, and we reject any indoctrination.
The Councilor for Education in the City of Lorca by the Popular Party, Pedro Mondéjar, has announced that the PP will require in the next plenary session that the City of Lorca support the express authorization of parents to the complementary activities of their children as a guarantee of freedom to exercise their right to consent or not to allow their children to participate in those complementary activities that are taught by staff outside the educational center, without doubting at any time the center and the teacher.
From the PP the support of all the municipal political groups is demanded to defend the right of the parents to choose for their children the religious and moral formation that is in accordance with their own convictions, according to article 27.3 of the Spanish Constitution.
Pedro Mondéjar has stated that the City Council has to demand the current Government of Spain to cease its attempts to interfere in the education to which our children are entitled and respect the right of families to educational freedom, as well as their own powers in educational matters they have the autonomous communities, within the superior normative framework established by the Spanish Constitution.
The councilor of the PP has explained that based on the provisions of our Constitution, Spanish families have the right for their children to receive religious and moral training that is in accordance with their own convictions.
We are talking about a measure that is already applied for example in the Autonomous Community of the Region of Murcia through an order of the Ministry of Education since the beginning of the course and no organization, in addition to parents, teachers and centers, nor has complained He hasn't said anything.
This right of families has been applied in the Region since last September without incident, and we believe it should continue to be so.
This is a request for information and express consent, which allows the centers to inform parents in advance about any activity, talk, workshop or similar that affects the values in any subject.
An advanced society has to commit to allow families to educate their children in freedom and in accordance with their own moral and religious convictions, as the Constitution stipulates, without impositions of any kind, by establishing an express authorization of the parents to the participation of their children in complementary activities with staff outside the center.
This application is being developed normally in schools in the Region since the course began.
The educational centers and teachers will continue to develop their pedagogical and organizational activity and all the activities they deem most relevant with total autonomy and freedom, but the truth is that, in the delivery of complementary activities, people outside the cloister of the educational center, who They may not be teachers and the obligation of neutrality does not fall upon them.
We are neither against teachers nor against parents, on the contrary we support the teacher by giving him legal certainty before people, who should not be assumed neutrality, who come from outside the center.
And of course we support parents in their freedom and right as responsible for their children.
We support and defend freedom in education and the freedom of families, because they are educated as a family and taught in the educational center.
The regional government has guaranteed this freedom in recent years by undertaking a battery of actions, among which the single school zone stands out, so that parents can take their children to the centers they choose freely.
From the Popular Party we affirm that it is not a bureaucrat or a politician who from his office decides which center a student attends or what kind of complementary training our children receive.
We do not believe that the State can supplant the right of parents over their children, and we reject any attempt at indoctrination in schools.
