Diego José Mateos regarding the creation of a third lane on the A-7, is in favor and advocates the construction of the Lorca-Caravaca Highway as an alternative to decongest traffic.
January 27th.
The mayor of Lorca, Diego José Mateos, has highlighted several of the issues that are dealt with in the Ordinary Municipal Plenary corresponding to the month of January and has assessed the proposal for the construction of a third lane on the A-7 Highway.
Mateos has highlighted "the motion of urgency we have presented on the occasion of the incidents caused by the lack of electricity supply that occurred in Coy, Doña Inés and Zarzadilla de Totana and with which we make a double demand to Iberdrola. On the other hand, to compensate those affected by all those losses that have occurred in homes and businesses for so many hours without electricity supply and, apart from this temporary situation of compensation, that a study be carried out and that the electrical infrastructures of the high districts of Lorca so that problems like these do not occur again. "
The First Edil has also reported "an expropriation, pending 2010, for the construction of a roundabout for access to the 4T sector of Tercia 'City of the Automobile', to the old National Highway 340".
Mateos Molina has indicated that "as usual, all opposition political groups have submitted their respective motions and we will try to reach agreements on all those issues that, we understand, are beneficial for Lorca and for Lorca and Lorca."
With respect to the extension, with a third lane, of the A7 motorway claimed by different municipalities of the Region, the mayor has assured that "it is a good proposal but for us the solution to traffic decongestion in the Murcia-Puerto Lumbreras section , a section with a lot of daily traffic density, is the construction of the Lorca-Caravaca Highway.
"This highway would connect the municipality of Caravaca with the Sale 'El Olivo', in Cieza, so that all those vehicles coming from Madrid, from the center of the Peninsula, could take this natural exit that would lead them to Caravaca from there towards Lorca and Almeria
Diego José Mateos recalled that "this measure, approved and budgeted by the Autonomous Community of the Region of Murcia since 2008, in addition to decongesting the A-7 Highway and not making its extension necessary, would benefit Lorca a lot and, above all , in terms of communication and infrastructure to our High Pedanías ".
