The Popular Party manages to start the commitment of the Plenary of the City Council to request the total gratuity of the AP7, including the Cartagena-Vera section (27/01/2020)

The Spokesman of the Popular Group in the City of Lorca, Fulgencio Gil, stressed that the Popular Party has managed to start the support of the Plenary of the City Council to move forward the motions related to the execution of improvements in the district of Morata and the demand to the government from Spain to expedite the arrival of the AVE and end the blockade that exists in all the projects that have to do with the burial of the railroad tracks in our urban area.

Fulgencio Gil has indicated that from the Popular Party we are clear that above the political interests there is always the improvement of the quality of life of our citizens.

That is why we have agreed to introduce changes in the agreements raised at source within the motion related to the district of Morata, so that we have agreed to urge the Government of Spain to agree to the approval of the total gratuity of the AP7 or not proceed to renew your concession.

In the same way we have managed to commit the current local government to urgently carry out the remodeling and improvement of the Montajú Road, complete the arrangements to make available to the residents the property acquired in Morata for citizen groups and move forward in the remodeling of Mesillo road.

From the PP have recalled that the City of Lorca, at the initiative of the Popular Party, acquired a property last year in the deputation of Morata.

An investment of 20,000 euros was made for the elimination of architectural barriers that allowed the firm to be placed at a homogeneous level, at the same time as tasks were carried out to provide it with natural light by opening new windows.

Work was also carried out to repair the toilets, and the stage was extended to welcome the usual neighborhood activities with guarantees.

Since last June the City Council has paralyzed the battery of arrangements in this property, a fact that has upset the neighbors, who today are harmed by an incomprehensible inaction, which prevents them from developing the many popular activities Traditional in this district.

The residents of this district have also sent us their request to proceed with the arrangement as soon as possible of the Montajú road, given its high use, especially as a way of departure for the agricultural productions they cultivate in the district.

We have been able to verify that the state of the firm is frankly deficient, so we support this claim from the inhabitants of Morata.

From the Popular Party we demand that the government of the nation extend the total free of the AP7 highway along its entire route, also including the sections in the provinces of Alicante, Murcia, Almeria, Malaga and Cádiz currently taxed with the payment of tolls

In our opinion, it is unacceptable that, being the same highway, no toll is paid if it circulates in Tarragona, Castellón or Valencia, curiously governed by independentist ideology parties - the second and third - but it does have to be done if It travels through a province governed by the Popular Party, as in the cases of Alicante, Murcia, Almeria and Malaga.

The AP7 motorway is one of the infrastructure that has generated the most prosperity, wealth and employment in Spain since it opened its first section there in 1969. However, that progress that the construction of the AP7 led to Catalonia and Valencia, came with almost 40 years of delay to the South of Alicante, to the Region of Murcia, to Almeria and to Malaga, which they saw as their respective sections of this large capacity road took much longer to execute.

After the completion of the informative study of urban integration, Adif tendered in early January 2019 the "Consulting and technical assistance for the drafting of basic projects and construction of a platform and station for the integration of the railroad in Lorca" whose deadline for submission of offers ended almost a year ago for an amount close to 2 million euros.

Fulgencio Gil has pointed out that since the deadline for submission of bids, the contract for the drafting of the aforementioned project has not been awarded and we have no knowledge of the award, so the arrival of High Speed ​​to Lorca in 2023 is little less than impossible and uncertain, since once the drafting of the integration project has been awarded, it has a period of 15 months to which we must add another 10 months of bidding and signing of the contract.

To this we add the 36 months of the underground work a total of five and a half years ago, or what is the same, to the year 2026.
