Juan Carlos Quintana and Yeray Mujica inaugurate this weekend their 2020 sports program in the Rallye Tierras Altas de Lorca, valid test for the National Land Championship and also for the Spanish Super Championship.

A total of 41 teams have formalized their registration for this first calendar event, among which a large team of R 5 stands out, specifically 13 vehicles among which Pepe López with the CitroĂ«n R5, Xevi Pons at the controls of a Ford Fiesta R5 stand out , Gorka Eizmendi with the Skoda Fabia R5, Nil Solans, Pernia with Hyundai as well as the canaries Juan Carlos Quintana with Ford Fiesta R5 and Gustavo Sosa with Skoda.

Quintana and Mujica will arrive on Thursday in Lorca to start the day on Friday with the recognition of the timed sections, which will be kept secret until Thursday night.

As usual, teams can only make one pass through each of the sections to take the notes.

At 13:30 hours the Shakedown will be held, while at 17:45 the show section will be held in the city of Lorca itself.

On Saturday, the rally will be held, counting a total of 106 timed kilometers distributed in seven sections.

For Quintana this will be his first competition with the Ford Fiesta R5, it is the same unit that last year will drive Gorka Eizmendi.

"Our goal in Lorca is to make kilometers, to feel with the vehicle and to know the whole team - Juan Carlos Quintana said. We want to win the learning race, we need to learn many things and we have to do it quickly. We go out with this philosophy and that entails that we are going to roll very calmly, just with the pressure of learning "

Quintana that accumulates great experience in the CERT has a special predilection for the Rallye de Lorca.

"It is a test that we like very much, last year we won the N 5, qualifying us in seventh position of the general. They are usually fast sections, with a good firm and where there are usually not many punctures. As we always want and as every season we always have a nice challenge, just that this year we go with a high-level vehicle, so it is essential to learn a lot and quickly in this first test "
