From the Department of Environment and Citizen Security of the City of Lorca, all relevant measures will be taken to prosecute this type of criminal behavior and that the garbage is deposited in the place indicated for it.

The Councilor for the Environment of the City of Lorca, José Luis Ruiz Guillén, has reported the cleaning carried out in recent weeks, by the municipal cleaning company, Limusa, in a section of the Guadalentín riverbed and thanks to which 1,500 kilos of uncontrolled waste have been removed.

The Councilor for the Environment explained that "the municipal company Limusa, in coordination with this council, has removed from the stretch of the riverbed, located between La Peñica and Escarambrujo, a ton and a half of waste accumulated in the riverbed by the human action. "

José Luis Ruiz Guillén has detailed that "it is about furniture, appliances, clothes, equipment and offal, among them, it has been removed from a refrigerator to a sofa, through garbage bags full of waste."

Ruiz Guillén has pointed out that "there have been several points that have been worked on in this coordinated plan between the road cleaning personnel of the municipal company and the Department of Environment during the last weeks."

The mayor has advanced that "a second phase of cleaning is planned in the short term where the debris located in this section will be removed, since at some points some deposited waste is seen again."

The person in charge of the Environment recalled that "Limusa offers the citizen a wide variety of options for the proper management of this waste, in order to maintain the channel in a good state of quality and conservation, taking into account the transit of passing citizens daily in this area. "

And he concluded, insisting that "from the Department of Environment and Citizen Security, human resources will be put in place and appropriate measures will be taken to prosecute this type of criminal behavior."
