The Councilor for Agriculture and Livestock, Antonio Navarro, explained that "from the City Council, for the first time in history, the connection between the primary sector and the university will be promoted. We think it is logical to promote collaboration agreements between the Faculty of Nutrition of Lorca and our farmers and ranchers, which are the engine of our economy. "

The Councilor for Agriculture and Livestock recalled that "from this government team we are very clear that we must value our university campus, as well as our primary sector, something that we will continue to do and encourage, also to bring the university closer to the municipality ".

Antonio Navarro participated last week in a meeting with the Vice-Dean of the Faculty of Nutrition of Lorca, Carmen Frontela and with the president of ADS of the pig of Lorca, Adespolorca, Francisco Román, "a first contact in which the different lines of collaboration and research that can be carried out related to the pig sector ".

In this meeting, the councilor pledged to "promote contacts with companies in the agricultural sector, with the aim of achieving a necessary merger between the primary sector and the University Campus of Lorca, something that will benefit all parties."

Various actions that have allowed new collaborations with this entity, such as the signing of a volunteer agreement between the UMU and the Consistory of Lorca, the beginning of the works of the Center, are also being carried out from the Department of University of the City Council Poncemar Day or the various conferences that this campus is organized in the Cultural Center of the City.

It should be noted that the momentum of the university campus is and will be a strong commitment of the mayor, Diego José Mateos, and as shown by "the continuous work between the two institutions" that results in a new synergy, which has emerged between the collaboration of the degree of Nutrition and Dietetics and the Department of Agriculture and Livestock of the Consistory of Lorca.
