The councilor of the Popular Party in the City of Lorca, Pedro Mondéjar, has proposed that all public and private parking spaces be reserved exclusively for the care and surveillance of bicycles, both electric and traditional, as well as for more and more Used electric skates.

We constructively request that experience begin by establishing an area bounded for this purpose in the parking lot that the Municipal Consistory manages through the Limusa company in the Plaza de San Vicente.
Pedro Mondéjar has indicated that we want the current local government to get to work in a serious way in this regard, developing this proposal, contained in our work program for the period 2019-2023, and that it is proposed to all guarded parking lots in the City a general agreement to create these safe spaces for bicycle parking.
We are talking about a resource that is one more step and an advance respect for the bike parks that we have already begun to install in our city with the PP in front of the City Council.
From the City of Lorca we have to be able to prevent the possible theft of this environment, to facilitate the use of the bicycle and the growth of a city, as one of the factors that can help to achieve it.
Any person who takes a bike for the first time to leave it in a place other than their home, thinks about the consequences that this act can have.
This discourages users of this medium to use it as a means of urban transport.
Bicycle theft not only has economic implications for the affected, it also has them in the social and environmental context.
The PP proposal also proposes that the anchors for these car parks be uniform in all of them, seeking maximum safety for the user, as demanded by bicycle users at all levels.
We want users who decide to use this new service to have the possibility of making a daily or monthly reservation, adjusting it to their needs and that users have an access ticket like any other vehicle.
The councilor of the PP has pointed out that this measure can contribute to the idea of ​​a sustainable city in which the Popular Party of Lorca believes and that it implies a low investment, in proportion to the benefits it can have in our city.
The places offered must be sufficient, progressively for the implementation of this measure.
The Lorca must provide comfortable and safe bike parking as an essential condition for the development of a successful bicycle promotion campaign.
It is part of the displacement itself, helping to inhibit its use unless it is perceived that in the destination these vehicles will be safe.
We are convinced that the use of the bicycle is no longer just an autonomous transportation resource for the future, but that it is the real present for our city.
We believe that this proposal is oriented in that way and that it will encourage the use of this vehicle.
The sustainable development of Lorca involves increasing the use of the bicycle as a means of transport.
We all know its great benefits, which add to the fact that the reduction of environmental pollution is evident, being the most sustainable option, also reducing noise pollution and promoting clean air.
All this ensures that it is connected with the prevention of respiratory diseases and complications in others derived from these, in addition to contributing to the good physical condition of the users.
The bicycle does not understand social classes since everyone can acquire one, being a means of movement in which we can save and are able to generate more space in our cities, since, if used more, the use of car and therefore the space that is generated increases almost proportionally to the use of it.
