The councilors for Trade and Health and Consumption, Francisco Morales and José Ángel Ponce respectively, this morning carried out an information campaign in the shops that are authorized to open during quarantine, with the aim of disseminating a series of tips for citizens to carry out your purchases safely.
This is a campaign promoted by the regional government that the municipality of Lorca disseminates in our municipality along with representatives of the main agents and trade associations, such as the Union of Lorca Merchants, Codelor, as well as the Parque Almenara shopping center.
0, by which the state of alarm is declared, contemplates that a series of shops and establishments that are allowed to open, such as food shops (butchers, greengrocers, fishmongers, bakeries, supermarkets);
pharmacies, parapharmacies, drugstores, cosmetic and hygiene products stores;
the food and basic necessities section of the shopping centers;
gas stations, tobacconists, kiosks and stationeries.
In this sense, and since people are authorized to go out to make their purchases, although in a limited way to the time strictly necessary, the departments of Commerce and Health and Consumption have wanted to carry out an information campaign to convey to the population a series of tips for when they leave home to make the necessary purchases.
José Ángel Ponce, mayor of Health and Consumption, recalled that "no one should leave the house if they have symptoms of a cold or cough; as far as possible, only one person per family should go out and make the purchase as quickly and as quickly as possible "You should not hoard essential products either, as their supply is more than guaranteed; when coughing or sneezing, we must cover ourselves with the inside of the elbow or use disposable tissues; and we must use gloves when choosing fruits, vegetables, etc."
The mayor of Commerce, Francisco Morales has recommended "to space the purchase throughout the day and not to go to the opening time of the establishment, while reminding that stocks are guaranteed for all, so calm should prevail. At the time of making our purchases, we have to maintain a security distance of one and a half meters with the rest of the customers and with the supermarket staff, including the cashier staff ".
The City Council also wants to encourage citizens to collaborate with the elderly and risk groups to avoid having to go shopping in person.
"It is about being caring and considerate, to avoid exposing the people most sensitive to the coronavirus to be exposed," said Ponce.
Finally, Morales has also advised avoiding cash.
"We are recommending payment by card, and that after the introduction of the pin we wash our hands with hydroalcoholic solution. Of course, when we return to our homes, we must wash our hands very well, clean the products purchased before storing them, as well as the surface where we have supported them. These are common sense measures, which must be accompanied by repeated measures of not touching your face, mouth, nose or eyes during the process. "
"We make, once again, a call for social responsibility so that we all respect the established norms and the measures recommended by the health authorities. It is up to all of us, individually, to contribute to the collective victory against the coronavirus, whether with isolation, hygienic measures, maintaining personal distances, avoiding crowds in shops that are still open as they are essential products, "Morales concluded.
