The spokesman of the Popular Party in the City of Lorca, Fulgencio Gil, has proposed that the flags fly at half-staff in all the official buildings of the City of our city while we suffer the crisis caused by the coronavirus, a measure that has been put into practice on other occasions, such as, for example, when national mourning is decreed.
Fulgencio Gil has stated that all the victims of this pandemic deserve our highest consideration.
We are talking about a drama that affects thousands of families throughout our country, with whom we must have a gesture of tribute and consideration.
We consider it convenient that the Lorca City Council demonstrate its solidarity with the deceased and their families with this gesture as a sign of mourning and respect.
From the PP we regret the loss of thousands of citizens due to this pandemic and we propose that the institutions pay tribute to the deceased.
Many Spaniards are being beaten by this pandemic by having deceased family members who are not even being able to accompany them in their farewell, so from the institutions we must position ourselves at their side and express through gestures, such as the Spanish flag flying at half-mast, our solidarity, our embrace, our understanding and respect for their pain.
It is the moment to demonstrate to the Spanish that, in difficult moments, their institutions are together with them to accompany them and help them in everything they need.
The City Council must rise to the occasion, since it constitutes the first line of social battle, a reality to which we also demand the support of the National Executive of Pedro Sánchez, who must send aid and means to the municipalities. that we have been demanding to also face the multiple extraordinary expenses that they are having to assume as a consequence of COVID-19.
It should be noted that this initiative has already been raised by the PP before the Spanish Federation of Municipalities and Provinces (FEMP), supporting the request made in the Congress of Deputies by the leader of our political formation at the national level, Pablo Casado.
