The Lorca City Council begins today, under the coordination of the municipal company Limusa, the disinfection tasks of the public highway as a containment measure to prevent the advance of COVID-19.
Irrigations will be carried out on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 11 at night until the wee hours of Wednesdays and Fridays, respectively, for as long as the health alert is maintained.
The management of the municipal cleaning company has explained that "an agreement has been reached with the local agrarian business after the offer made to the municipalities to use their tractors in these tasks and the farmers, who will work voluntarily and altruistically, will yield also their fumigation vats used to combat pests towed by these vehicles. "
The Limusa staff will be in charge of the logistics and filling of the tanks that will carry a mixture of water and bleach in the proportion set by the health authorities as a safety measure.
In addition, the tractors will be equipped with shuttle cannons that will be responsible for irrigating the city's public roads on a route that will depart from the Apolonia neighborhood to La Viña passing through San Cristóbal, Puente Viejo, Lope Gisbert and the Granada Highway to return by Jerónimo Santa Fe, Juan Carlos I and Avenida Europa.

Due to the vastness of the municipal territory, the disinfection tasks of streets and public spaces in districts are being coordinated through the pedáneo mayors.
From the Department of Health, the population will be kept promptly informed of this action so that the necessary security measures similar to those adopted in urban phytosanitary treatments are taken, and doors and windows must be closed during the hours established for said tasks and avoid the presence of pets outside the house.
