The Alimer agro-livestock cooperative is launching a feed production project with the capacity to manufacture 180,000 tons per year, which will be made up of three lines of work, and with which it will expand its supply to the more than 450 member farms that make up the entity.
. The Councilor for Urban Planning of the Lorca City Council, José Luis Ruiz Guillén, has announced the granting of a license for the study to create a feed factory for livestock in the municipality. Ruiz Guillén explained that "from the Lorca Town Planning Department we have approved the execution of a study to create a feed factory for livestock, in the Saprelorca Industrial Estate, which will create the largest agro-livestock cooperative in the Region of Murcia, Alimer , with the aim of supplying the more than 450 farms of the livestock partners that make up this entity ". The Edil has detailed that "the situation of prosperity of the cooperative and the continuous incorporation of new members with the consequent increase in productive activity has made the Governing Council of the company has decided to bet on this project that will consist of the construction of a new feed production plant, on a plot of 12,000 square meters, with a capacity to manufacture 180,000 tons per year and which will be made up of three independent lines of work for the manufacture of all kinds of feed intended for farm animals ". Ruiz Guillén has indicated that "these feeds will be aimed at obtaining food that makes possible a healthy production for the consumer and, at the same time, respectful with the environment, something that the entity is promoting, since the opening of this new factory will allow optimal production from the point of view of energy consumption while substantially improving aspects related to polluting emissions.
" The Councilor for Urban Planning has announced that "the investment planned for this important project is 10,000,000 euros and, once the new 'conventional' feed manufacturing plant is operating, which has just been given the green light, it is intended to start the manufacture of organic feed.
Activity that would be carried out in the facilities that are planned will be deprecated when the new factory starts, after the necessary reforms and updates.
" José Luis Ruiz recalled that "Alimer already carries out in this same Industrial Estate a series of activities, all related to livestock, such as the Milk Collection Center, a cheese factory for the transformation of goat milk, as well as the current one feed mill.
These activities, all linked directly to the livestock sector, generate on their own an annual volume of activity of more than 70,000,000 euros and directly employ more than 70 people ".
