It is a project in which the Lorca's PP president, Fulgencio Gil, had been working constantly, after receiving the initiative of the Espartaria association at the time. The Councilor for Transport in the City Council of Lorca for the Popular Party, Juan Miguel Bayonas, has reported that the drive and efforts that have been taking place by the president of the PP from Lorca, Fulgencio Gil, to enable the implementation of the new service of transport in our districts, popularly called "Rural Taxi", have borne fruit.
We have to point out that until this process is completed, the work meetings and the contact with the representatives of the Regional Government have been constant, whose special sensitivity has allowed this modification to be carried out, despite the special circumstances that we are currently suffering.Juan Miguel Bayonas explained that the project to launch a pilot experience of "Rural Taxi" was transferred months ago to the PP by the Espartaria association.
From the PP we made this initiative our own, since we consider that it would be interesting to implement it as a novel communication and travel tool from the districts.
We were aware from the first moment, and so we transferred it, that this project required a legislative amendment at the regional level, a path that our colleague Francisco Javier Pelegrín Poveda, who at that time held municipal responsibility as Transport mayor, undertook. From the PP they have indicated that after the modification made by the Regional Government of our president Fernando López Miras, we now demand that the current local government comply with its work, proceeding to introduce this novelty in municipal regulations.
We are talking about a modification that will have to be approved by the Plenum of the City Council, something that we request to be carried out immediately.
We must emphasize that our political formation has already urged the resumption of the plenary sessions of the City Council, precisely because we know that this issue, as well as many others, cannot be waiting, but that we have an obligation to accelerate all the issues that are beneficial to Lorca families, freelancers, SMEs and entrepreneurs. It is not lost on anyone that the private sector will have to play a very important role in the recovery, since today they are the only ones capable of generating the necessary activity to pull the economy out of the crisis that lies ahead.
We will not get out of this crisis if companies do not. These changes have been approved at the most recent meeting of the Governing Council of the Region of Murcia, including in the Decree Law of mitigation of the socioeconomic impact of COVID-19 in the area of ??Housing and Infrastructure, responding to the proposal of the Lorca PP.Juan Miguel Bayonas has stated that the taxi is a sector seriously affected by the mobility restrictions caused by the coronavirus crisis.
The sector has shown that it is of great public utility and has played a very important social role during the health crisis.
This sector is also very vulnerable because it is mostly made up of freelancers.
For this reason, they need the commitment of all administrations, so that they can be helped to quickly reactivate their activity by opening new possibilities. From the PP we are committed to extending and generalizing mobile technologies in the taxi sector that allow us to move quickly, economically and sustainably, giving better service to users, which is why the transport capacity of taxis, we eliminated the maximum limitation of two salaried drivers, and we bet on the possibility of sharing a taxi by introducing the hiring of individualized places and fractional individual payment.Taxi professionals have also received good news, since, in addition to what is indicated, in the event that low incomes are prolonged, the possibility is opened that they can be complemented by the taxi activity with others that allow it to achieve sustainability economic.
