The councilor attributed this fact to the lack of "sensitivity" of some parties that have even opposed the validation of the Decree-Law of urgent measures in the field of protection and assistance to victims of gender violence in the face of the coronavirus crisis . Among the priorities, Martín has asked that "face-to-face" care for women victims of gender violence be considered an "essential service" in the City Council and that it be recovered following the necessary safety and hygiene measures.

"We are concerned that ill-treatment may have increased due to the increased tension in the home due to confinement," said Martín, who recalled that "telephone assistance is not a resource that provides sufficient guarantees when the victim is forced to stay by his attacker 24 hours a day without any privacy.

Finally, IU-Verdes has transferred the concern of the FOML about the use of funds from the State Pact against gender violence for Lorca, which are finalist, and shares with this important group of women the need to recover the " democratic normality "in the municipality with the holding of ordinary plenary sessions and their live broadcast.
