The Councilor for Urban Planning and Citizen Security of the City of Lorca, José Luis Ruiz Guillén, together with the Vice Mayor of Lorca and Councilor for Commerce, Francisco Morales, have informed of the intention of the Lorca municipality to expand the space of the terraces as much as possible to maintain the largest number of tables in hospitality establishments, once the Region of Murcia enters phase 1 of the de-escalation caused by the coronavirus health crisis. Ruiz Guillén explained that "from the Department of Urban Planning, Citizen Security, Commerce and Tourism, we have worked together collecting the demands of the hoteliers of our municipality with the aim of implementing security measures that allow us to keep as many tables as possible in bars and restaurants and, at the same time, comply with the sanitary measures that maintain the reduction in the number of infections by Covid-19 ". " The Edil has detailed that "from the City of Lorca we have been studying all the possibilities that can be carried out to make the implementation of terraces on public roads more flexible.
Specifically, the measures include the authorization to the hoteliers, by means of a responsible declaration of the expansion of the space to be able to maintain the number of tables and chairs that were authorized prior to the decree of alarm status as long as the area where they are located has sufficient security surface.
