From the Lorca Autonomous Platform (PLAU), we want to make the following assessment of the Plenary held on Tuesday, May 5 at the Lorca City Council.
Through various writings addressed to the Mayor and to all the Municipal Groups, we have made known the situation that SMEs and the self-employed in our municipality are currently experiencing due to the effects of COVID-19.
At the same time, we have sent the municipal authorities the situation that appears to us in the immediate future when we open our businesses, until we achieve normal performance.
In these writings we have asked our City Council for help exemptions from fees and taxes until we can overcome this situation that we are suffering. Once we have analyzed the agreements that have been taken in plenary, we have to assess them as stunted, stunted, ambiguous and unambitious.
The Government Team has not lived up to the circumstances.
In such a way that they represent an abandonment to the group of self-employed people we represent and to the totality of SMEs in our municipality. We highlight the following considerations: 1- Four monthly payments for water and garbage, two receipts, is totally insufficient and should have been minimal for the remainder of the year 2020.
2- “Up to 500 euros of tax credit”, does not commit to anything specific and does not determine what charges Taxes would be included in that ambiguous amount.
We have to interpret that in this supposed amount of “up to 500 euros” the occupancy rates of the public thoroughfare (terraces) will not be included, nor will the receipts of water and garbage.
3- It is unacceptable that taxes such as the IBI, car stamp, IAE are not revised downwards.
Etc.
Only the postponement and fractionation of these taxes has been approved and what we need is the reduction or exemption of the same.
4- We do not know what administrative procedures we will have to carry out in order to have access to these scarce aids,But we are clear that it will be an extra expense for our companies. We live in an exceptional situation and it is in these moments when you most need your Town Hall next door, so that our shops do not disappear and so that no one is left behind.
For that we need exceptional and sufficient solutions and we have to regret that the Government Team has not been sensitive to this serious situation. Virtually everything will come to nothing, at a minimum discount on our tax obligations and the postponement of those payments for a few months.
NO, gentlemen of the Government Team, we cannot pay now, nor will we be able to pay until our businesses recover their normal workload.THE CONSEQUENCES OF THESE WRONG DECISIONS WILL HAVE SERIOUS CONSEQUENCES FOR THE PRODUCTIVE FABRIC OF OUR SERVICES SECTOR IN THE MUNICIPALITY OF LORCA.
MANY TRADES THAT WILL BE ABLE TO DISAPPEAR, WILL NEITHER PAY FOR THIS YEAR 2020 OR THE FOLLOWING. THEY HAVE NOT UNDERSTOOD THAT: IT WAS ABOUT INVESTMENT AND NOT SPENDING, OF EXEMPTIONS TODAY TO RAISE TOMORROW, TO SAVE THOUSANDS OF JOBS FROM OUR BUSINESS AND SMEs.
