| Of which 18 corresponded to new cases | The total number of services provided by the CAVI multiprofessional team during the past month was 476, among which the 230 services corresponding to social workers, 162 to psychologists and 84 to the legal adviser stand out.The Councilor for Equality of the City of Lorca, Antonia Pérez, has taken stock of the actions carried out by the Center for Attention to Victims of Gender Violence (CAVI), located in the Department of Equality, during the month of April, in full situation of mandatory confinement due to the state of alarm.The mayor of Equality has detailed that "during the last month of April, a total of 201 women were treated, of which 18 corresponded to new cases (13 nationals and 5 foreigners) and the rest, 183 women (128 nationals and 55 foreigners ) who were already being served in this service ".Antonia Pérez has pointed out that "if we take as a reference last February, the last month in which the care was entirely in person, new cases have represented an increase of 38.46%, while the care of cases of women who have already were being cared for in the CAVI has increased by 36.57% ".Pérez Segura also referred to the data for April 2019, "if we refer to the same month last year, the care of new cases has increased by 5.88% this 2020, and the cases of women who were already users in the CAVI they have increased by 37.60% compared to April 2019 ".Regarding the total number of care services carried out during this past month by the CAVI de Lorca multiprofessional team, made up of two social workers, a legal adviser and two psychologists, there were 476 services, of which 230 services were for social care, 162 to psychological and 84 to legal care.And with respect to the month of February of this same year, "the number of total interventions carried out by the team has led to an increase of 71.84%, and with respect to the same month of April 2019, these have increased by 74 , 35%, data from which we can see the reinforcement in the work regarding the follow-up of cases that has been carried out in a close and coordinated manner by the entire CAVI team, "explained the mayor of Equality.Antonia Pérez has insisted that "since the beginning of the health crisis caused by the coronavirus, which forced us to temporarily suspend face-to-face assistance to users of the network, we were clear that it was an obligation for this service to carry out a reinforcement of the telephone attention to all those women victims of gender violence ".For this, Pérez explained, "each reference professional is personally calling their assigned users to carry out care and telephone monitoring of each one of them, managing the resources and benefits adapted to each case, offering them psychological support, legal information as well as informing and / or remembering, among other measures, the guidelines for safety and action in the face of any imminent situation of gender violence and informing them of the 24-hour telephone service available to them in an emergency situation.
