| The training proposals ratified by the Plenary also include tax cuts and an ambitious Plan to Boost, Reactivate and Promote Local Commerce , Hospitality, Tourism, Culture and Leisure | The municipal group of Citizens has managed to include the implementation of the so-called Municipal Fund for Aid to Self-Employed and Companies among the proposals to get out of the COVID-19 crisis recently approved by the Plenary.
As explained by the local spokesman and vice mayor, Francisco Morales, "the intention is to mobilize up to a million euros in direct aid or subsidies for self-employed workers and SMEs whose activity has had to be suspended during the state of alarm." Morales has also highlighted among the orange proposals that are already in the development phase the Plan for Dynamization, Reactivation and Promotion of Local Commerce, Hospitality, Tourism, Culture and Leisure, as well as tax relief measures in the form of a bonus and exemption from local taxes -such as IBI or ICIO- and municipal taxes. The tax relief will materialize in aid to pay the IBI to self-employed and companies that own or lease premises that are forced to close during the state of alarm; a 95% discount in the ICIO for repair or rehabilitation of said premises or the suspension of the fee for the installation of terraces.
"In this sense, we are also expanding its surface in order to make more profitable the reopening of our hospitality businesses, always respecting social distancing measures," Morales explained.
Commerce and hospitality will also be exempt from paying the garbage and water taxes for four months. But undoubtedly the most relevant action will be the Dynamization, Reactivation and Promotion Plan for Local Commerce, Hospitality, Tourism, Culture and Leisure, which includes a wide range of measures.
Among them, a local business search engine or a manager of appointments and telematic reservations: "New technologies will allow us to partially alleviate the effects of this crisis," said Deputy Mayor Morales, who also highlighted the launch of an information portal of the Department of Economy, Industry, Commerce, Crafts and Public Companies or the launch of new channels of direct communication through social networks. The orange spokesman also wanted to emphasize the tourist and artisan sectors, for which there are also proposals to promote his way out of the crisis: "We want to promote Lorca as a safe destination, promoting rural and nature tourism," he remarked.
The bet also goes through making Lorca a smart tourist destination (DTI) through the digitization of the sector.
In the artisanal field, “we are already applying IBI reductions to workshops and SMEs, and we are studying eliminating the opening fees for new facilities, as well as reducing the rates of garbage, water and sewerage or eliminating occupancy rates on public roads or markets and supply squares ”.In short, Morales considers that "from Ciudadanos, the Government team and the City Council of Lorca we are already working because this health crisis does not lead to a more serious socioeconomic situation, and so that our self-employed, SMEs, and entrepreneurs have the greatest possible support from your Town Hall ”.
