The spokesperson for the Municipal Socialist Group in the City of Lorca, Isabel Casalduero, has referred to the statements made, this morning, by the mayor of the Popular Party, Ángel Meca, about the lot in which the old building of the Police station. Isabel Casalduero recalled that "this project of the Popular Party did not have the support of the entire Corporation, it was done unilaterally, a few months before the elections, so it was clearly an electoral and partisan measure, which did not correspond with the real needs of our municipality, one more trigger to lose the support of a multitude of lorquinos and lorquinas in the past municipal elections that caused them to lose three councilors in this legislature.

" Regarding the savings in the rents of the Aguas de Lorca company offices that must continue to be used, the spokesperson asked Mr.

Meca to "not lie, since he knows that if the project had gone ahead, the works would be starting now , so all these months ago we would have continued to face the lease.

" Casalduero Jódar has insisted that "other alternatives for this plot are being studied, with which the Government team and the PSOE will have the rest of the forces, not as the PP that threw the building of the former police station without the consensus with no one.

" Isabel Casalduero has reminded the Popular Party "that its project for the site of the old police station was clearly electoral and partisan as well as lacking political and social consensus.

Our intention is to give the new facilities utility for our neighbors as it is a central location that could give life to the urban area ". The socialist spokeswoman has revealed that "right now from the government team we are focused on doing everything possible to prevent the spread of the coronavirus and we have been working on this since before the state of alarm was decreed, on March 14 , without stopping for a single day.

We would have appreciated proposals from the Popular Party to contain the consequences of the pandemic and not these issues that right now are not particularly relevant.
