Rosa Medina: "The reality is that while the PP ruled Spain, the people of Lorca had this fiscal aid, and as soon as the PSOE settled in Moncloa, it was charged.
We have to remember that they have been blatantly lying to us about the recovery of this help for almost a year and a half ":The Councilor for Economy and Finance at the Lorca City Council for the Popular Party, Rosa María Medina, has reported that the PP has obtained the support of all the municipal groups of the Municipal Council to demand that Pedro Sánchez, current Prime Minister, comply with his Commitment to discount 50% of IBI to earthquake victims.
This is the most important fiscal aid for the affected group, which had been suppressed by the current Prime Minister with the approval and indolence of the PSOE mayor.Rosa Medina has indicated that thanks to the pressure exerted by the PP, the Lorca City Council has demanded that the Government of Spain urgently and immediately approve the 50% discount on the Property Tax for Lorca, as well as the transfer of 3,000,000 euros to finance works and infrastructure services, equipment and municipally owned services, and also include an agreement with the waiver of interest and penalties for delaying public aid arising from the earthquakes. The reality is that while the PP ruled Spain, the people of Lorca had this fiscal aid, and as soon as the PSOE settled in Moncloa, it was charged.
We have to remember that they have been blatantly lying to us about recovering this aid for almost a year and a half.
The newspaper archive is there, and shows a chronology of tricks that we Lorca cannot forget:- May 22, 2019, Marisol Sánchez (deputy of the PSOE): "Facts against the lies and the continuous scare-old tales of the Popular Party.
Marisol Sánchez announces the commitment of the Government of Spain to maintain the 50% IBI bonus and the 3 million euros for districts ".- June 1, 2019: Isidro Abellán (mayor of the Treasury): "The 50% IBI bonus is a reality thanks to the commitment of the Government of Spain.
The bonus was not only more than assured, as the Lorquina deputy Marisol announced Sánchez after meeting with the Minister José Luis Ábalos, is that it was an inalienable commitment for which we have fought from the PSOE in Lorca, with Diego José Mateos at the head.
"- August 20, 2019, Marisol Sánchez (deputy of the PSOE): "the PSOE is taking all the necessary steps to maintain the 50% IBI bonus for people from Lorca affected by earthquakes."- November 13, 2019, Diego José Mateos (current mayor): "formulas are being sought to compensate taxpayers.
Those alternatives include offering a refund to those who have paid or rewarded that 50% the following year."- November 14, 2019, Isidro Abellán (Councilor for Finance): "when a government is formed in Spain and the legislature begins to move, the economic resources for Lorca will be disbursed, including this IBI bonus".- Even Pedro Sánchez assured on November 8, 2019 during his rally in our region that "as soon as there is a government issues such as the approval of the 50% IBI bonus, they can be carried forward."All of us from Lorca know that the city is still undergoing reconstruction.
Currently, intense efforts continue to be made in the urban regeneration of various neighborhoods that were once affected by earthquakes, as well as in essential road and communication infrastructures for the municipality, with the interferences that this entails in the normal development of the activity economic, commercial and social of the citizens of Lorca. The maximum exponents of the local productive fabric, as is the case of the Chamber of Commerce and Ceclor, agree in stating that this tax credit is essential and must be effective.
Such circumstances demonstrate that the social and economic normality of the population has not yet been restored. For these reasons, it is appropriate to approve urgently and immediately, through the formula of the Royal Decree-law, the 50% IBI discount for this year, as a remedial measure while continuing to act intensively in urban regeneration and this interferes directly in the development of economic, commercial and social activity of the citizens of Lorca.
In fact, when Mariano Rajoy, then president of the government, found himself in the same situation, he approved a Royal Decree Law for Lorca to maintain this aid, however, we continue to suffer the marginalization and forgetfulness of Pedro Sánchez.
