The mayor of Citizen Security has explained that "the events took place in the early hours of this past Sunday when the agents were carrying out tasks of prevention and citizen security in the Santa María neighborhood."The Councilor for Citizen Security of the Lorca City Council, José Luis Ruiz Guillén, has reported the arrest of two people, one who had a search and arrest warrant in effect; and another for illegal possession of a firearm.The mayor of Citizen Security has indicated that "the events took place at dawn this past Sunday, June 14, and had the participation of the Incident and Proximity Unit of the Lorca Local Police (UDIP)."José Luis Ruiz Guillén has detailed that "around 1 o'clock on Sunday, when a prevention and citizen security service was provided in the Santa María neighborhood, a group of young people were observed on public roads, the agents approached them and they verified that among them was JMM, the agents being aware that this on this individual issued a search and arrest warrant.
"Ruiz Guillén added that "this person, realizing the police presence, tried to flee to enter a home and thereby avoid police action.
In this flight, he was helped by PMF, who interposed himself between the agents and the detainee, trying to facilitate his escape.
Finally, the agents managed to arrest him and put him in the police vehicle.
"In addition, PMF was also arrested, who at the time of being searched to put him in the police vehicle, a firearm, a 22-caliber pistol, was seized.Both individuals were brought to justice, for which reason the corresponding proceedings were conducted in dependencies of the National Police Force.Finally, the mayor has reiterated that "with these relevant interventions the constant work carried out by the Lorca Local Police is confirmed, through the different units in which it is organized and in the aspects of prevention and operational response."
