| That allows its development while respecting the safety regulations of COVID-19 | The people of Lorca deserve a new fair profile because it is evident that people are going to go out and enjoy their streets and squares in September, whether there is an official fair or not, so the city council has to take responsibility and make virtue of necessity. We have the opportunity to improve the Fair model, to improve it and to be an example to followThe councilors of Culture and Celebrations in the city of Lorca for the Popular Party, Francisco Javier Martínez and Antonio David Martínez, have proposed this morning that the Municipal Council make virtue of necessity, and work on the drafting of a new and better model of Fair and Fiestas for September.
We offer a new fair model with which Lorca wins, and which is better for hoteliers, fairgrounds, merchants, families and to guarantee the rest of the neighbors by establishing a respectful schedule for each type of leisure. We are observing that the de-escalation process in Lorca is proceeding positively and that the citizens are coming back without a hitch.
Despite the fact that we are still in phase 3, we can see on a daily basis that, respecting the pertinent security measures, citizens go to the shops, bars and picnic areas of our city in a responsible, happy and orderly manner.
Therefore, it is more than obvious that in three months, when all the phases have been completed and September arrives, we inhabitants of Lorca will maintain that custom of ours to enjoy the city, its squares, streets and gastronomy, even if there is no fair official.
It is also evident that they will go out for "tapas" and snacks on the terraces and usual places to take advantage of the good weather we have after the summer in Lorca. Therefore, from the Popular group, we propose that if we move towards a new normality, a new formula of Fair and Parties must also be projected.
We are talking about a fair that is more gastronomic, that hoteliers need, more daytime and, above all, that encourages the elimination of any type of crowds and crowds.
For this, it is necessary that these issues are planned with the responsibility they deserve, and it is precisely now when we can make the need for virtue, and get a new fair model, more comfortable, attractive and with space and hours for all types of leisure. From the PP we advocate changing the massive concerts at a specific point, for performances by local musical groups spread throughout the city to liven up the different squares and streets, and invite you to enjoy our particular September. We have held conversations with various groups, including the Fair Trade Association, and we want to contribute a new design for the distribution of the fairground, much safer, wider, and adapted to the new sanitary requirements established by COVID-19.The aim is to expand the surface that the Huerto de la Rueda fairground currently has, in such a way that the former Limusa car park is included as available space, with the aim of reserving a children's area in which a access control at each attraction, with sanitary hygiene measures.
The Huerto de la Rueda complex would be used to install the attractions for adults with more separation than before.
We would also proceed to pedestrianize the roundabout and the vicinity of Ifelor to install the traditional nougat huts, cod…We must bear in mind that, for multiple associations and brotherhoods of our municipality, setting up with their traditional beach bars at the September Fair provides income that is vital for their economic subsistence and the development of their activities, for which they have to offer an alternative location. The people of Lorca expect their City Council to respond responsibly in this matter, because the reality is that, if everything proceeds normally, the people of Lorca will go out to enjoy their city in September, and it is the obligation of the Council to put on the table a viable formula such as that we propose for September. If already in June the current local government has chosen to close Alamo Street to traffic for nightlife, why in September we cannot enjoy a new fair model.
The September fair is a vital and, above all, economic boost for Lorca's hospitality and shops.
It is essential for the local economic revival.A few weeks ago, IU spoke of reactivating the city culturally in the months of July, August and September, and we bet on that same line, and, by the way, we have not received a response to the proposal to establish at least one drive-in cinema Lorca.
We have been coming for a while anticipating what the Lorca government should do.
