The popular ones consider that the installation of a perimeter fence is more than necessary, which the neighbors themselves claim to prevent access by pets because they make their depositions on the coral, which has caused children to stop using it. The councilor for Citizen Participation in the city of Lorca for the Popular Party, Mari Huertas García, has proposed the execution of a battery of improvements in the park of the Rio deputation.

It is an initiative that starts from the residents themselves, who consider it necessary to improve these facilities that are frequented daily by residents of the area.

We are talking about a leisure and recreation area, with a wooded playground, which constitutes a dynamic social resource for Rio. Mari Huertas García explained that it seems fair and pure common sense that, as the neighbors demand, the city council proceed to make a perimeter fence for the playground with the aim of acting as a barrier for the access of pets.

Due to the absence of a fence, especially dogs enter the area that should be reserved exclusively for the enjoyment of children, and make their depositions in the coral floor, turning what should be a children's area into a track littered with feces.

Therefore, the installation of a fence would solve this problem, which is causing people to stop using the park due to the unfortunate events that describe us. We also appeal to pet owners to pay special attention to avoid eventualities of this type.

We are aware that this is a very small minority, but there are still some people who do not respond to the essential levels of civility that all citizens should demonstrate. Mari Huertas García has also proposed that the sports area that the aforementioned park has, which to date has an earthen floor, should be provided with a layer of concrete solera with the objective that the residents have a resource in better conditions of use for sports practice in general.

This claim has also been transferred to the Popular Party by the residents of Rio, who point out as an example the works of the same type that have been successfully carried out in other areas of the city, indicating the specific case of the San Diego park , materialized by the PP within the comprehensive improvement projects of our neighborhoods financed thanks to the commitment of our regional president, Fernando López Miras. We propose, therefore, that the track, which currently lacks a solid base that allows its correct use throughout the year, has a concrete floor, on which the existing goals would be installed, a material to which the neighbors request that incorporate baskets so that children and youth can play basketball.
