The badge, granted by the Foundation for Environmental Education and which Lorca renews again, represents recognition of the fulfillment of demanding quality, safety, health, services and environmental respect requirements, as well as the coordinated work between various councils to achieve it. The Deputy Mayor of Lorca and Councilor for Tourism, Francisco Morales, and Councilor for the Environment, José Luis Ruiz Guillén, have collected this morning the different "Blue Flag" that the Cala de Calnegre has received again this year.
The protocol act, organized by the Ministry of Tourism, Youth and Sports, took place at La Chapineta Beach, in Azohía (Cartagena). The councilors of Tourism and the Environment have collected this morning the Blue Flag that will fly this year on the Lorca coast, which is a recognition of both compliance with the parameters of quality, safety, health, services and respect for the environment and the work carried out by the different departments involved to comply with them as an essential requirement for their concession by the Foundation for Environmental Education (FEE). Morales has stated that "this distinction shows that our coast is a formidable place to enjoy the Mediterranean and nature in conditions of maximum safety for those who visit it.
Calnegre, despite the difficulties derived from COVID-19, maintains its cataloging as one of the best beaches in terms of quality certification, and this is a consequence of the good work of the government team, the Department of Tourism, Environment and Emergencies, as well as Civil and Limous Protection ". For his part, Ruiz Guillén stressed that "our cove meets the requirements and quality standards of bathing water, as well as the absence of discharges of wastewater and other types of polluting substances or garbage.
In addition, it is necessary that the beach has a cleaning plan, containers and selective collection of waste, security measures and services such as the presence of qualified rescue equipment or first aid equipment, as well as the existence of emergency plans, and easy and safe access, among others". In total, 26 beaches on the coast of the Region of Murcia will surround the blue flag this year, in addition to 6 marinas, 2 trails and 1 interpretation center.
The act has been chaired by the Minister of Tourism, Cristina Sánchez, accompanied by the president of the Association of Environmental and Consumer Education, José Ramón Sánchez Moro, the president of the Port Authority, Yolanda Muñoz, the director of the Institute of Tourism, Juan Francisco Martínez, the General Director of Competitiveness and Tourist Quality, María Esther Tenza, and the General Director of Coastal Mobility, Marina Munuera, as well as mayors and representatives of other municipalities and marinas.
