A total of 214 narrations have been presented to this edition coming from students of IES Ramón Arcas, from Colegio Ciudad del Sol; of the San Francisco de Asís School; IES San Juan Bosco, Sierra de Almenara and Príncipe de Asturias, showing a high level of work in all participants. The mayor of Lorca, Diego José Mateos has chaired, this afternoon, together with the Councilor for Education, Antonia Pérez, the presentation ceremony of the twelfth Narration Contest for Secondary Education 'Ángeles Pascual Awards', organized by the Municipal Network of Libraries of Lorca. The First mayor recalled that "a total of 214 narrations were submitted to this year's edition, by centers, 120 from IES Ramón Arcas, 57 from Colegio Ciudad del Sol; 22 from Colegio San Francisco de Asís; 10 from IES San Juan Bosco, 4 from the IES Sierra de Almenara and 1 from the IES Príncipe de Asturias, showing great interest in writing in general and for this contest in particular, in addition to the great level seen in the narrations of all the participants " The recognized of this edition have been, in Group A, corresponding to the students of 1st and 2nd of ESO, Teresa Fernández Pallarés, of 2nd of ESO of IES Ramón Arcas Meca, for 'The trip of your life' who has obtained First Prize; Pablo Pizarro González, from 1st ESO at IES Ramón Arcas, second prize for 'Nubes Rojas', and Armando Martínez Piñero, from 2nd ESO at Colegio Ciudad del Sol, third prize for his narration 'Burned Ice and Frozen Fire' " The finalists of this group have been: Paula Martínez Bermejo, from 2 of ESO of the IES Ramón Arcas Meca, for 'Once upon a time… I don't know how to write a story'; Ainhoa ??Rodríguez Herrero, from 1st ESO at IES San Juan Bosco, for 'Carta de Claire' and Vega Romera Rodríguez, from 2nd ESO at IES Ramón Arcas Meca, for 'El Kangaroo y la Estrella'. The winners of Group B, for students in 3rd and 4th ESO, have been: with the first prize Carlos Martínez García, 3rd in ESO at Colegio Ciudad del Sol, for 'Women whispering'; the second prize for Lucía Nieto Quiñonero, from 4th of ESO at IES Ramón Arcas Meca, for 'Aphrodite' and the third prize for Helena Morote Pérez, from 4th of ESO of Colegio San Francisco de Asís, for 'Your life with me'". And the finalists of this group have been: Daniel Sánchez Campoy, from 4th of ESO of the Ciudad del Sol School, for 'La Brezza'; Luz Ruiz Díaz, from the 4th year of ESO at the Colegio San Francisco de Asís, for 'Siempre en mí' and Marta Torrecillas Alabarta, from the 4th year of ESO at the IES Ramón Arcas Meca, for 'El immigrants'. " The jury of this 12th Narration Contest for Secondary Education "Ángeles Pascual", chaired by the mayor of Education, Antonia Pérez, has been formed by José Quiñonero Hernández, professor of Language and Literature; Adolfo Muñoz Palancas, teacher and writer; Ginés García Agüera, head of the Culture Service; and librarians Susana Torres de Mora, Elena Hernández González and María Luisa García Peñas. It should be remembered that Ángeles Pascual García, Professor of Language and Literature, was the Adoptive Daughter of Lorca since 1997, where she lived from 1928 until her death at the age of 96 in 2016.
In 2011 she received the Elio Prize awarded by the Association of Friends of Culture for the work carried out throughout his life. She was a Professor of Language and Literature at the Industrial Master's School for more than 20 years and also taught at the José Ibáñez Martín Institute, and from 1973 until her retirement at IES Ros Giner.
Passionate about teaching and reading, it is necessary to highlight the great work that she generously and altruistically did in the Municipal Library of Lorca, with management tasks for 30 years, to which she contributed her great humanistic training and dedicated a lot of effort and enthusiasm for it to grow and improve. The City Council of Lorca, through the Municipal Libraries, created in its honor in 2008, this award that today we deliver the Narration Contest for Secondary Education "Ángeles Pascual Award" that this year has completed its 12th edition.
