| Taking advantage of the service road parallel to the post-transfer channel | This trail would also communicate with the access road to the Ermita de La Salud, in the Sierra de Tercia, an enclave very frequented by Lorca's people due to the magnificent views offered by this unique enclave of the Guadalentín ValleyThe councilor of the Popular Party in the municipality of Lorca, Antonio David Sánchez, has proposed that the Municipal Council undertake the necessary procedures and negotiations with the responsible institutions and bodies to promote the social and general use by citizens of the service route of Section III of the Canal del Postrasvase, making it possible to convert it into a new "Friendly Path".The councilor of the Popular Party has explained that the municipality of Lorca has a huge amount of service infrastructures derived from works for saving and efficiency in the use of resources linked to the agri-food sector, being the main exponent in this regard the mills and hydraulic tools.
It has been frequently stated that the history of Lorca is that of the fight for water, and good proof of this can be found in infrastructures such as the Valdeinfierno dams (1806), Bridges IV (2000), as well as the Escarambrujo Mill ( 1786), and the engineering works carried out within the construction project of the popular Canal de Aguas Claras (1929-1933), which included three "waterfalls", of which the one located in the hamlet of Rio is still preserved. We are talking about examples of the culture of water whose conservation and dissemination we consider would be useful for both current generations of Lorca, as well as future generations, to be aware of the enormous work of innovation that has been carried out in Lorca throughout over the centuries with the aim of distributing the limited water resources that we had.We must be aware that we have to work from the municipality to avoid losing infrastructure that already belongs to the typically Lorca seal, with which the people of our municipality feel identified.Following this same line of work, we also have service infrastructures built in our municipal area to allow the execution of maintenance tasks for these works.
One of them is the path enabled parallel to section III of the Tajo-Segura post-transfer channel, which was built between the municipalities of Alhama and Lorca.
It is a channel enabled from the exit of the Alhama Drive to the Partidor de Lorca, with a total length of 41 km in free regime. The aforementioned path allows access to the canal to carry out its own maintenance, improvement and repair tasks.
Along its extension within the municipality of Lorca we can find the Zarcico aqueduct, which has a length of 99 meters, 3 spans and a maximum height of 15 meters, as well as the artificial tunnel of Carraclaca, with a length of 745.4 meters, and the arrival siphon to the urban area, with a length of 2,390 meters and an internal diameter of 3 meters.
Just in the border area between Lorca and Totana is the Los Yesos Aqueduct, with a length of 417 meters, 13 spans and 45 meters high. This route has been used historically by the people of Lorca as a place for sports, both hiking, running and mountain biking, given its uniqueness.
It is for this reason that from the Municipal People's Group we consider it necessary and interesting for our municipality to initiate the necessary procedures and negotiations to enhance its social use, through the creation of a Friendly Path, which makes recreational and maintenance uses compatible among citizens in general and the operators of the Postrasvase canal itself. We propose to undertake the procedures and the search for financing to carry out this project, which would offer Lorca a Friendly Path from the Apolonia neighborhood to the Los Yesos Aqueduct, with a total route of 15 km.
It should be noted that the layout has a pavement in perfect condition, including a 600m stretch owned by the Ministry of Defense in Carraclaca, where a family leisure and recreation space could be created.
