The event took place at the San Pedro del Pinatar Tourist Initiatives Center and was attended by the general director of the Institute for Spanish Tourist Quality (ICTE), Fernando Fraile. The Councilor for Tourism, Francisco Morales, has reported that "since July 30, 2020, the Tourism Office of Lorca, along with the rest of the Network of Tourist Offices in the Region of Murcia, has held the quality seal" Safe Tourism Certified ”that it has obtained after having passed an on-site audit on July 21”.This quality seal is a benchmark that wants to transmit the concept of Safe Tourism in all its areas and is awarded by the Institute for Tourism Quality (ICTE) with the support of the Secretary of State for Tourism.
The Office Network of the Region of Murcia, once again, has been the first Tourist Office Network in an Autonomous Community to obtain another certification, in this case it is the "Safe Tourism Certified" seal. This certificate represents a health guarantee by having implemented a Health Risk Prevention System against COVID-19.
The Lorca tourist office complies with all the requirements of current legislation and UNE ISO 9001, as well as the Q for tourist quality and applies all the measures for the prevention of contagion by SARS-coV-2.In addition, the councilor has stated that "the staff of the Tourism Office has a Framework Procedure with all the measures to be adopted in the face of the health emergency caused by COVID-19.
This procedure has been prepared taking into account current regulations, the technical recommendations of the health authority, the provisions of the Contingency Plans and Action Procedures established by the Health and Safety Committees, the Risk Committee of the City Council and the Office of Tourism".The Tourist Office of Lorca also contemplates another requirement such as the continuous training of its workers regarding sanitary regulations to reduce the risk of contagion.
In order to guarantee the safety of both users and workers, there are many protocol actions that the Tourism Office has implemented, applying a protocol for each of the processes.
Among them we can highlight recommendations before going to work, preventive measures for commuting, shift management, access and exit to the office, safety distance between users, limited capacity, use of masks, use of disinfectant gels, control system of the hours, ventilation of areas, informative posters outside and inside the office, elimination of brochures exposed in the self-service area and QR codes have been placed in their place so that the tourist can download the brochure, among others.“All the measures applied, as well as their certification by national entities, are a good example that accredits Lorca as a certified Safe Destination and should serve to generate trust among clients and tour operators.
We see how Lorca, again, undergoes an examination and manages to stand out in terms of compliance with safety and health measures.
From the Administrations we do everything in our power to guarantee the safety of users, so we only have to appeal to the prudence and responsibility of those who use tourist facilities or visit our municipality to avoid the spread of Covid-19 " Morales has concluded.
