First Cry for the Independence of Ecuador" which was held in the Migrant Hall of the Consulate of Ecuador in Murcia.The mayor recalled that "this celebration takes place around one of the most important civic days in Ecuador.
A day like today, but in 1809 the seeds of the independence movements began to be planted that ended up forming the current Republic of Ecuador.
".Diego José Mateos has pointed out that "according to data from the municipal registry, 4.2 percent of the population of our municipality corresponds to citizens of Ecuadorian nationality, a community that became very numerous in our town, but the economic consequences of the crisis and the May 2011 earthquake caused many of these citizens to return to their country.
"Mateos stressed that "the Ecuadorian community is integrated into Lorca society, here many of these citizens have formed a family, have started their businesses, in addition to actively participating in the activities that are developed from this municipality in collaboration with different groups" .For his part, the Consul of Ecuador in Murcia, Miguel Ángel Macías Saltos, thanked "the support that the Lorca City Council provides and the fraternal social and economic welcome of the Ecuadorian community."It should be noted that this act has been carried out in compliance with the security measures recommended by the health authorities, on the occasion of Covid-19, so all security protocols have been maintained.
