Mateos has detailed that "between September 1975 and March 1976 he acted as Honorary Archivist in the Municipal Office of Lorca, until he was hired as the person in charge of the Archive, a position he held until April 1979, when he was appointed an official for the position of Manager of Historical Archive until 2011 when he retired ".
