The municipality of Lorca, through the Department of Citizen Participation, reinforces its commitment to the neighborhood groups of the municipality, materialized through this new investment that will be extended over the next few months with the aim of promoting the conservation and maintenance of these facilities municipalities and, at the same time, promote the fabric of associations in neighborhoods and districts. The Councilor for Citizen Participation of the City Council of Lorca, José Ángel Ponce has taken stock of the actions carried out by this council for the improvement, conservation and tidying up of the social premises that are distributed in neighborhoods and districts. The councilor for Citizen Participation has explained that "although these facilities are currently closed due to the situation we are experiencing due to the health crisis, this does not affect our continuous maintenance work on these municipal infrastructures". José Ángel Ponce has assured that "this is an investment that marks a before and after in terms of the City Council's attention to the demands of the municipality's neighborhood groups.
An investment that will be extended over the next few years, since this council it plans to expand this line of action to continue meeting the requests of these groups to continue improving these infrastructures necessary for recreation and the associative life of our neighbors in neighborhoods and districts ". According to the mayor, in the last year the Department of Citizen Participation has invested about 42,000 euros in actions to improve and maintain the social premises and civic centers that the Lorca town hall has throughout the municipality.
"This investment reinforces the commitment that this City Council maintains with residents, especially with neighborhood movements and groups, who for years have been demanding basic improvement and maintenance actions, in order to preserve these fundamental facilities for the activity of these groups ". Among the improvements made throughout the municipality, in addition to guaranteeing basic maintenance of these facilities and stopping deterioration in many of They highlight the completion and equipping of the new premises of the Nueva Avenida Europa Neighborhood Association; improvements in accessibility and conditioning of the social premises of the residents of Zarzadilla de Totana; the conditioning of the entrance to the women's premises in Aguaderas, to solve the problems caused by the nesting of pigeons; as well as painting works, acquisition of furniture, locksmith, renovation of air conditioning devices, remodeling of toilets or improvements in the lighting of premises such as San José, Torrecilla, Pulgara, Coy, La Paca, La Viña, Cazalla, Purias, San Lázaro, La Hearing, San Pedro or Alfonso X, among others. Specifically, this investment has responded to more than a hundred requests made by neighborhood groups to the Department of Citizen Participation in the last year, carried out in 34 municipal facilities distributed among the different neighborhoods and districts. "This investment, I insist, does not end here.
In addition to continuing with the daily maintenance work of these facilities, in the coming months the improvement of the electrical system in the Zúñiga and Escarihuela premises is planned; the remodeling of the social premises of Morata and Pulgara, the latter under the collaboration agreement between the Lorca City Council and the Autonomous Community; the arrangement of the roof and roof of the social premises of Avilés, to put an end to water leaks every time it rains, or the repair of the premises Rincón de los Carranzas, among others.
