As a result of the investigation, the Civil Guard located the point where the fire allegedly started, a place near a promenade and a group of houses, where pruning remains had been burned, this being the cause that originated the fire.
Therefore, the researchers carried out an exhaustive technical-ocular inspection in situ. The analysis of the information obtained during the investigation has allowed the Civil Guard to identify a neighbor of the municipality of Lorca who is behind the alleged responsibility of the burning of the pruning remains. Once all the necessary evidence has been obtained, the civil guards have located and investigated the suspect, who has been investigated as the alleged perpetrator of the crime of forest fire due to negligence. Wildfire crime The perpetrators of the crime of forest fire, contained in the current Penal Code, are committed by those who set fire to mountains or forest masses and will be punished with prison terms of one to five years and a fine of twelve to eighteen months. In the case of having existed danger to the life or physical integrity of the persons, the act will be punished with a prison sentence of ten to twenty years, imposing, in any case, the penalty of a fine of twelve to twenty-four months. The investigated, along with the proceedings, has been made available to the Investigating Court of Lorca (Murcia).
