The mayor of Lorca has indicated that "this new space that will be located between Juan Mínguez, Beato Fray Pedro Soler and Ortega Melgares streets will be renamed Plaza Santísimo Cristo de la Sangre". Diego José Mateos recalled that "this new denomination has been in common agreement with the directive of Paso Encarnado and that it is a perfect location for this square that we remember is located in front of the House Museum of this Arch Confraternity, and a few meters from the church of San Cristóbal ". Mateos explained that "this proposal will be taken to the next Plenary Session of the Corporation so that this space will be called from now on with that name, in homage to the titular image of the Paso Encarnado, for which we are sure that we will have the support of the rest of municipal political groups ".
