Diego José Mateos stressed that "all these actions that are about to be completed have the objective of reversing the damage that previous actions had caused on the façade.
According to technical reports, the cement mortars used, up to four layers of mortars, as well such as non-breathable, waterproof and very hard surface paints, they had increased these damages by sulphation, crystallization of salts and disintegration of the stone ". Mateos Molina has detailed that "these works are valued at € 38,633.88 by the City Council and that the execution period has been a little longer due to the fact that another new cement filling was found under the four layers of surface mortar, for which a new report had to be issued with the situation discovered to the General Directorate of Cultural Assets to authorize said works.
" The mayor has highlighted that "once everything is finished and as long as the health situation allows it, these dependencies will open their doors so that Lorca and visitors can enjoy the greatness of this property and the restored facade of the Palace ".
