| To promote the employability of women in our municipality | The project is financially supported by the Ministry of Women, Equality, LGTBI, Families and Social Policy, which allocates 50,000 euros to the FOML for the development of this social and labor program. The Deputy Mayor of Lorca, Francisco Morales, the Councilor for Equality, Antonia Pérez and the president of the Federation of Women's Organizations of Lorca (FOML), Pilar Fernández, presented, this morning, the project 'Carmen', promoted by the FOML to improve the future of women who are at risk of social exclusion and who are victims of gender violence through their empowerment, and that the Ministry of Women, Equality, LGTBI, Families and Social Policy finances with 50,000 euros from the funds of the State Pact against Gender Violence. Francisco Morales has shown "the appreciation of the City Council for the great contribution made by the Department of Women of the Autonomous Community for this project with a marked social purpose and the institutional support to the Federation of Women's Organizations of Lorca" highlighting the importance they have the resources allocated to this program for the employability of women in vulnerable situations in the municipality of Lorca, resources that, in Morales' words "are not an expense but an investment because the profitability that we are going to obtain is going to be very large and It is going to materialize through the Federation of Women's Organizations ". The objectives of this project are, on the one hand, to encourage women in situations of personal, social and work vulnerability to exercise their social and economic rights, minimizing situations of risk that lead to exclusion, including the prevention of violence against women.

Under the premises of intervention and prevention, those women who are victims of abuse or of any situation of vulnerability, will have a specialized team to serve them, as well as a space in which to develop the necessary tools to undertake their personal project through economic empowerment, as part of their process of getting out of these situations to make women independent and have access to of economic autonomy ". The 'Carmen' project contemplates carrying out a personal interview, activating self-esteem, acquiring pre-employment skills, approaching true work environments, job placement, promoting self-employment or tutoring as keys to guaranteeing independence economic situation of women in vulnerable situations, allowing them to restart a new life away from situations of inequality or abuse. Morales has been satisfied and happy that the Lorca organization can be a benefactor of these much-needed funds.

"It is an important day for Lorca because an ambitious project is presented that focuses on the women of Lorca and, therefore, on Lorca society.

Employment for women is crucial, especially for those who are in vulnerable situations and / or are victims of gender violence so that they can achieve economic independence and stability while empowering themselves and increasing their self-esteem.

For this reason, it is always positive to generate synergies between different organizations such as the council, the FOML and the City Council itself to to carry out a project as positive as this one ". The Federation of Women's Organizations of Lorca has a long history and experience that supports it in terms of equality.

It began its activity 27 years ago with the purpose of fighting for an egalitarian society, where everyone starts with the same opportunities, the same rights and no person is discriminated against.

It has 45 federated associations and seven workers.

Every month they promote a rally against gender violence that takes place on the first Wednesday of each month in the Plaza de España.
