The mayor of Lorca, Diego José Mateos, explained that "these are buildings such as the Municipal School of Music, the Center for Local Development and the" La Torrecilla "Business Initiatives Center, where there are more than 40 classrooms of different sizes, to which the different social centers would be added ". The Mayor of Lorca, Diego José Mateos and the Councilor for Education, Antonia Pérez, reported this morning of the intention of the Lorca City Council to continue collaborating with the Autonomous Community of the Region of Murcia to mitigate the effects that the health crisis may cause. The mayor of Lorca has indicated that "within the measures that the City Council will adopt to return to the classrooms in our municipality we will make municipal facilities available to the Ministry of Education so that they can be provided with the new use that is estimated convenient for the return to the classrooms in our municipality ". Diego José Mateos explained that "we are talking about buildings such as the Municipal School of Music, (25 classrooms of various sizes), the Local Development Center (14 classrooms and 2 function rooms), and the Center for Business Initiatives" La Torrecilla "(9 classrooms and an assembly hall).

In total between these three facilities there are more than 50 classrooms of different sizes, to which could be added the different social centers and other facilities such as the sports pavilions of La Hoya, Almendricos , Purias, Las Alamedas and San José. The Mayor has reiterated that "all these dependencies, which we make available to the Ministry of Education, can be adapted to the new educational needs caused by the health crisis so that the school year can be carried out with the greatest guarantees."
