Thanks to the municipal investment of 250,000 euros, all infant education centers, schools, institutes and vocational training centers have air purifiers to guarantee maximum safety for students and the educational community The mayor of Lorca, Diego Jos Mateos, together with the Councilor for Education, Antonia P rez, have visited the Alfonso X El Sabio School of Infant and Primary Education.

Mateos explained that "this morning the classes corresponding to the second quarter of this special course in our municipality began and they have done so with the vast majority of their classrooms already equipped with air purifying devices with HEPA filters, a system of neutralization of the particles by which the virus of COVID-19 is transmitted ".

The Mayor has detailed that "from the City Council of Lorca we have invested 250,000 euros from the municipal budget in the acquisition of these purifying devices.

In total, 678 air purifiers with HEPA filters have been financed, through a subsidy n direct ".

"Specifically in the Municipal Infant School of 'El Gato'; the La Paca Child Care Point and the La Hoya and Cazalla child care centers, 19 units have been installed and, for all schools, public and subsidized; institutes and basic professional training centers of our municipality, we have subsidized 451 devices for the AMPAs and 208 purifiers for the Federation of Mothers and Fathers Associations, FAMPA ".

Mateos Molina has indicated that "the installation of these filters is one more measure to guarantee the maximum safety of our students, as well as of the educational community and that we must not forget that it must be accompanied by the rest of measures established by health authorities such as the use of a protective mask, hand disinfection, social distancing and classroom ventilation.

" The mayor of Lorca recalled that "as we have been doing throughout the pandemic, from the Lorca City Council we once again assume a full competence of the Regional Government putting the health of our children, teachers, professors and the rest first of the personnel of the educational centers, as their safety is a priority for this Government team ".

Diego Jos Mateos has shown that "from the City Council of Lorca we will urge the Government of the Region of Murcia to include in the next Regional Budgets the economic allocation corresponding to the investment made by the Consistory for the acquisition of air purification equipment with HEPA filters ".
