For this reason, Ciudadanos Lorca will defend a motion in the ordinary plenary session for the month of January to reduce the enormous impact of the rise in electricity costs.
The liberal formation regrets that the January slope worsens with economic demands on families, the self-employed and SMEs, adding a 27% rise to the price of electricity to the already precarious one and dire economic situation derived from the pandemic.
This increase coincides with a time of great demand for electricity due to the storm 'Filomena', which Francisco Morales has considered "disproportionate." The Citizens' proposal calls on the national government to promote measures to end the double taxation established on electricity and natural gas bills, removing electricity and hydrocarbon taxes from the VAT tax base, respectively.
