The council have Cazalla lorquina early next year of a Centre for Child Care (ISC), whose works are entrusted to complete this summer, as confirmed today the Director General of Family and Children, Laura Muñoz, who was accompanied by the councilors of Social Affairs, Lali Ibarra, and Women's Policy, Antonia Lopez.
The new IAC will have capacity for 61 seats, expandable to 82 when there is demand for it.
The contract is valued at 555,813 euros, of which the Ministry of Social Policy, Women and Immigration provides 400,000 and the rest is borne by the Municipality of Lorca, including the site of 2168 square meters on which it is building, located in Central Road in the town, along with the Neighborhood Association.
The seats are provided for children between four months and three years old, which will be attended by 11 professionals, including four teachers, tutors, a teacher, an educator and an entertainer support in the four classrooms planned.
The center hours will be from 06:00 to 22:00, Monday to Saturday the 12 months of the year.
Among its facilities will be offered other activities such as playgrounds and workshops.
Lorca is one of the municipalities in the region that has grown in recent years, largely by migration.
In fact, its population has grown from 65,555 inhabitants in 1992 to almost 95,000 in early 2008.
Hence the demand for these services has increased significantly.
Five centers in Lorca and 110 in the Region
Currently, CAI Lorca are funded three and two points for the Care of Children (PAI), which total 235 seats, with an investment by the region of 1,025,813 euros.
In addition, four more planned centers, two already constructed, which will be launched in the coming months, and two under construction, one of them the Cazares.
In the Region, CAI and PAI supported are 110 in total, 8218 until December last year, which represents an investment of 41.9 million euros.
Of these centers, dated June 1, 2010 there were 63 open, equivalent to 4198 beds, and 47 under construction.
